I read somewhere that we should all use an anti dandruff shampoo at least once a fortnight, but when I use one I get a very dry itchy, flaky scalp. Normally I'm dandruff free.
Do you use one of these shampoos regularly? Is it beneficial?

Haven’t used one in decades.
(Sorry, Claudia)

I haven’t for decades, either.

You used often to see people with dandruff on their collars or shoulders, but I haven’t seen that for ages. I’ve put it down to the fact that most people wash their hair a lot more often than they used to, with any shampoo, not necessarily an anti dandruff one.

I always use The Body Shop
GINGER Anti-Dandruff Shampoo. For dry, flaky scalp. It's perfect for my sensitive scalp/skin. Very gentle and keeps my hair and scalp in lovely condition. smile

I usually wash my hair once a week, but occasionally it can be twice.

I use it in the winter, since I find my scalp a bit flakier now.

Ive intermittently suffered from itchy flake scalp. Usually after a visit to the hairdressers. Ive tried all sorts ~ mild shampoos, specialist shampoo bars, Ive spent a fortune over the years. I was told long ago not to use shampoo every time. I now only use shampoo every 7 to 10 days. Never anti dandruff. The rest of the time I ‘wash’ my hair in the shower using only water. This is usually every day and Its in the best condition and no itchy flakey scalp. I very rarely use any styling products either. My hair is very short though not sure how it would be if long.

Hi, From last month danruff started appearing in my scalp and I was very afraid and I started using few other products like hair and shoulder shampoo and rins to clear the dandruff, but after some time the dandruff are not all over my hair.
I think I should try homemade remedies for danruff, Becuase I am tired with these products.
Can anyone suggest homeremedies.
Thanks
