Do you think the baggy, shapeless, oversized clothing trend is flattering?

I wear dresses with trainers too!
You’d hate how I dress Snowberry!

Snowberry please find some pictures of looks that you like.
This has the potential to be a really excellent thread! ?

Must live in a very deprived area no one walking around in anything like that
Leave it for the catwalk eh

Aeonk. I agree with skimming.
That is very flattering. Far better than too fitting.

Don't like it at all. Haven't seen any of it around here up north. My practical side says what a nightmare to launder. (yep, I'm that boring!).

I love loose, baggy, droopy clothes.
I like things to sort of hang from my shoulders. Especially mid length dresses.
I’ve been very slim in the past and now I’m not at all slim, in fact I’m fat; and I’ve always liked this look; and more important how it feels.
I hate to feel constricted.
It’s called lagen look.
It’s also quite a Japanese aesthetic.
I prefer not to see the bodies form.
For instance, how Carol Vorderman dresses.
For me it’s all about the head, face and hands.

Now, I like to see the body's form.
Women have been blessed with a beautiful form.
We shouldn't feel the need to hide it.

No, I don’t like the loose baggy style at all, but so many people are overweight these days it’s not surprising that they want to cover their fat up.

I think that it’s not the most flattering shape but may be the most comfortable. It’s possible to find clothes which skim over the contours of the body without looking baggy. Not easy of course! Buying clothes is hard work but can be rewarding when you find the right thing. At least there’s lots to look at on line even if, like me, you prefer to go to shops. I do a bit of research first.

Carol Vordemon is the extreme at the other end of the scale.

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Mar-22 07:52:53

This is the sort of thing that I mean

snowberryZ Tue 15-Mar-22 07:51:56

VioletSky I think that stomach out look is still in with the younguns!
They will wear a crop top wirh baggy bottoms and an oversized hoody

FannyCornforth Tue 15-Mar-22 07:50:29

I don't think it's flattering at all. I couldn't stand all that material in the pink dress hanging around me. Not a look for me in either picture.hmm

VioletSky Tue 15-Mar-22 07:48:46

Better than when the trend was to have your stomach out in every thing. Made shopping a nightmare for me,, why would I buy a jumper that left my stomach bare? Not logical lol

snowberryZ Tue 15-Mar-22 07:46:30

And the big clumpy white trainer trend doesn't help!

snowberryZ Tue 15-Mar-22 07:44:51

Well that didn't workgrin

snowberryZ Tue 15-Mar-22 07:43:33

Two examples.

Anything that disguises my muffin top is welcome!

snowberryZ Tue 15-Mar-22 07:37:24

It's where everything is loose and oversized.
And usually wirh big puffy sleeves as well.
I don't think it will suit most women.

BlueBelle Tue 15-Mar-22 07:35:26

Not sure what you are referring to I haven’t seen anyone wearing over baggy clothes but then I m only in a town out in the sticks maybe it’s city wear ?

snowberryZ Tue 15-Mar-22 07:30:44

I think it looks terrible on most people.

What's the point of looking after your figure, only to hide it in swathes of loose oversized, droopy shapeless material?
Also, I've noticed that this particular look makes people look far bigger than they actually are.
It's a look that's only really flattering on the very slim and the very young, and even then it still doesn't look that great.
Its not going to look good on the average British woman.

Of course that's just my opinion.
What do you think?
