Does anyone else think that trousers like this are hideously ugly?

And aren’t at all flattering even on tall, super-slim models? Let alone anyone of a more normal size.

I do buy from this company but they are increasingly featuring this sort of thing.

They are what DH would describe as "divorced your ankles and married your knees" trousers.

^More concerned that you think women need to be ‘flattered’ by there clothes. I wear what I want to wear….’flattering’ or not!^

Good for you. We're all different.

For some people wearing what they like means wearing clothes they think make the best of what they have. For some people knowing they look as good as they can may be the only crutch they have to deal with the world.

Quite. Yet feeling comfy is also about not feeling self conscious or uncertain that were not being unduly criticised/ ridiculed for bad decisions in the attire dept! I'm sure most have seen women dressed completely inappropriately and looking dreadful whilst thinking they're the mutts nuts? Yet if they're comfy with that who are we to moan? Just not a good look and does nothing for them

Unless you look similar to the beautiful model, I wouldn't even bother looking let alone asking daft questions about if they'd suit an old woman!!?

harrigran Mon 15-Aug-22 14:29:14

I wouldwear them too, in fact I bought a pair very similar just the other week.

Rosalyn69 Mon 15-Aug-22 14:27:30

I’d wear them in fact I have some like them. They are cool and comfortable. Each to his own though. .

Trouser fashions change all the time. I can remember my mum being horrified by my 70s flares!

JIns Mon 15-Aug-22 14:17:49

No I don’t think they are ‘hideously ugly’ and feel sorry for anyone reading this who may own a pair. Neither do trousers need to look ‘feminine’ Everyone has the right to wear anything they like without fear of criticism

They look like something that Wrap would sell. A very popular style, but I don't think this short leg length with tight cuff is very attractive.
But obviously many people do.
I agree that a fitted top would look better. The shirt would be nice with jeggings/leggings

I agree with that. Too much bagginess! I prefer trousers that fit tight round the leg as I think really baggy ones are a trip hazard on stairs.

Moggycuddler Mon 15-Aug-22 14:15:42

Look nice and casual to me.

Farzanah Mon 15-Aug-22 14:14:04

Yes I get that AreWeThereYet but it is such a pity that women can be so critical of each other.

Happysexagenarian Mon 15-Aug-22 14:12:33

They're not my style, I'm not tall enough, but I don't think they're ugly.

But I do think drop crotch pants/trousers are ugly - it won't let me post a photo. They just look ridiculous! I'm not too keen on skin tight leggings either except on very very slim women or teens. I'd certainly never wear them.

I really like them although wouldn’t spend that much money on a pair of trousers. I always keep an eye on changing trouser styles and try to keep vaguely up to date whilst not looking like mutton dressed as lamb.

Marmight Mon 15-Aug-22 13:55:10

No. I really like them! If I still had the figure to do them justice Id buy them

Treetops05 Mon 15-Aug-22 13:49:22

Being short and plump I'd look stupid, but I don’t think they are ugly

MeowWow Mon 15-Aug-22 13:45:13

I like them and I’d wear them but not with the oversized shirt.

Farzanah Mon 15-Aug-22 13:19:59

Me too Saggi.

missdeke Mon 15-Aug-22 13:05:33

I can't bear trousers that hover above the ankle, so unflattering. Either full length or three quarter length for me otherwise they just look like they have shrunk in the wash.

Alioop Mon 15-Aug-22 13:05:23

They look like they've been stitched to the one side rather than a cuff which is a bit odd. For me they are trousers for the house as they look cool and comfortable, but I wouldn't wear them if I was going out for lunch or anything.

Gathered ankles are vile but a gathered ankle that's actually halfway up the calls are hideous in my opinion and I certainly wouldn't pay that for a pair of trousers anyway.

Yes, you need nice slim ankles and neat little feet - that is, if you give any sort of a toss about what you look like, which I have to admit I do.
Good luck to anyone who doesn’t, though.

Very few trouser styles suit my short, hefty, lipodoema legs coupled with enormous bottom. These would successfully emphasise the problem even more than usual.

cc Mon 15-Aug-22 12:55:26

They look too short and I've never liked trousers gathered in at the ankle - I honestly don't think they'd look good on anybody. I do have such trouble finding normal length, normal width trousers in linen or thick cotton.

Supergran1946 Mon 15-Aug-22 12:54:24

I am sure some of the clothes we wore in the swinging sixties would be deemed “ugly” by the modern generation. I love the way each generation develops its own style, and personally I like these trousers
