Enlarging rings

I find it a bit awkward - I had my wedding ring done for the same reason. However, I now find that it does slip about, and as it is quite wide, can trap 'gubbins'. Occasionally it has even slipped off (as those with arthritic joints know, they can vary!)
So I tend to leave it off around the house & garden, in the pool, etc.

I’ve had my wedding ring enlarged once, really ought to have it done again. My fingers don’t really look any bigger, but on a warm day it is too tight.

I was told at the time it’s not advisable to enlarge engagement rings as has previously been stated, it can damage the setting of the stones.

You have to be a little careful enlarging rings with stones in as it could affect the security of the setting (so could reducing them in size) - it depends on how much they're going to be altered.

When I was a Saturday Girl in a jewellers many moons ago, we put metal "springs" in rings to make them smaller but this wasn't a permanent answer and they had to be fitted with pliers so wouldn't help you.

The modern plastic sleeves that go over the back of the ring might be perfect if you're dextrous enough to slide them onto the ring once it's on your finger. I suggest trying with the less important/valuable of your rings to see if it works before having the other altered.

But you could have your rings enlarged and then use the rubber gubbins to stop the rings from slipping about

My Mil used to have little soft plastic things that slip on the back of the ring band
