Lace dresses

I have a dark green rather stretchy lace dress which I love. It has long sleeves and is lined so is very warm and comfortable for winter evenings. It fits really well so I will definitely keep, if only worn occasionally. Another silver grey lace dress is just slightly too tight so I must send to the charity shop.

If all else fails you could sell them on a ebay or a vintage clothes site or donate them to a charity shop.

Keep them if you like them !

I deeply regret throwing out nice clothes , because I thought that they were out of style .

And I've just bought a lacy dress in dark blue from a charity shop - looks good to me !

I agree, if they suit you and they fit, keep them. I would rather have something that’s a classic style than something that’s in fashion and will quickly go out of fashion. Nice accessories and a good hair style to finish the look.

If they fit you and suit you and make you feel good hang on to them. Put them away for a bit and you can always get them out if needed, or rediscover them in a year or two.

I like fashion but I'm never worried about what's in vogue - if I like something and feel good in it that's good enough for me. Most of my clothes have been around for a very long time, albeit sometimes in a cupboard for years. I go through them every now and again and find new ways to wear them - belts, jewellery, different styles of jacket or wraps, different colour combos, etc. Much more fun than shopping and a lot cheaper. I had a summer dress that was a bit short made into a slightly longer skirt this year and it fits much better than the dress ever did.

Do they fit and do you like them? I don’t think lace as such is out of fashion and as they sound like simple classic shapes I’d hang on to them.

I am sorting my wardrobe prior to autumn/winter and have discovered three dresses. All of them can be "dressy" for the evening if needed. Plain cut, long sleeves and in green, red and blue lace.

I wonder if the vogue for lace dresses has passed - reluctant to throw out but not sure if they look really dated now? I think I need advice from an up-to-date Gran, please!
