Alternative Beauty Tips… 💋

Hello
I have long been an admirer of Helena Bonham Carter; she is a much more beautiful version of me.

I realise today that she has maintained her razor sharp jaw line, by thrusting her lower jaw forward.
I’ve tried it, and it hurt.
And it looks daft.
Why, Helena, why?

Any more pointless daft beauty tips?

Here she is, thrusting that jaw. Ow.

I jut my jaw and look upwards when I'm taking a selfie in the imagination that it makes my face look slimmer. It doesn't but I keep trying.....

Mascara!
Apparently if you use primer on eyelashes first it’s not necessary then to use waterproof mascara. A useful tip
I’d like me your prone to
Watery eyes.

If, darned auto correct

Yes! It's an exercise, though, not to be recommended when having a photo session.

Thrust forward jaw, bring lower teeth over top lip apparently stops you getting jowls. I should do it more often.

Don't let anyone see you doing it as you tend to look like a Pekingese dog.

I hurt my jaw years ago chewing gum ( to stop me smoking). It felt dislocated and was quite frightening. My dentist told me later how bad chewing gum was for your jaws but it was too late. Tired of living on mashed potato I saw a specialist. Apart from putting voltarol on it he said to just touch the roof of my mouth with my tongue as an exercise to strengthen the muscles round the jaw. Maybe if I’d carried on doing that my face wouldn’t’ve sagged. It’s amazing what small exercises can do. I would imagine that, in HBC’s cassette, having amazing bone structure helps just a tad.

I once worked with a woman that had a lot of tips about how to sit or lie on the beach, to make yourself look attractive.

I really couldn't be ars*d. If I'm on the beach, I aim to enjoy myself. Not put myself on display.

When I see this thread it reminds me to -

Aww! 😍 My first little dog had an overbite like that

FannyCornforth Sun 22-Jan-23 10:38:32

Is it a Tibetan Spaniel?
Pekes were bred from Tibbies

During lockdown- I took the opportunity to study acupressure. Same as acupuncture, but using finger pressure rather than needles. Amazingly effective, on self and others.

Two acupressure points are well known to improve facial youth and stopping sagging. If you put a finger on each side of nostril, and go up a bit and press gently (those 2 points are very tender- you can add more pressure at a later stage, gently) pushing slightly up and under cheek bone- and hold for 1 or 2 minutes each day or twice a day. Perfect when watching TV, for instance.

That’s just made my eyes water fp.
HBC has a new (sofa) ad out, she is a beautiful woman, IMO.

Fleurpepper Sun 22-Jan-23 10:52:53

Actually, down a bit rather than up, from nostrils.

Here is a video with all the useful points for face, with affirmations if you wish, or not. The point I described is the second one she demonstrates

Did you try Georgesgran- and was it just the description that made your eyes water. It used to be quite painful for me, so go gentle. Great for clearing sinuses too.

Kalu Sun 22-Jan-23 10:56:27

I think HBC may have had some help in maintaining such a youthful jawline and…not a wrinkle in sight? Hmm! Facelift, Botox, airbrushing?

Happygirl79 Sun 22-Jan-23 10:57:25

She is just so beautiful. Whatever she's doing, she's doing it right .

Georgesgran Sun 22-Jan-23 11:00:01

Think I was a bit heavy handed - not helped that my cold has affected my sinuses. It’s worth a try though.

Somehow thinking HBC has had a ‘bit of work’ done makes me feel better (shallow!).

Kalu Sun 22-Jan-23 11:00:41

I agree though, I have always thought she is a beautiful woman with bone structure to die for.

Photographic images of celebs tell lies.😂

I don't know but I used to take a Pekingnese for walks when I was very young, he had an overbite (although I didnt know it was called that then). He'd trot along happily on his little legs, looking determined with his bottom teeth showing.

Kalu Sun 22-Jan-23 12:27:54

Your dog had teeth in his bottom Calli? 😂

Callistemon21 Sun 22-Jan-23 12:30:45

😂😂😂
Ah, poor dog. I can't post his name, it's politically incorrect now.

He wasn't mine, he belonged to a neighbour.

FannyCornforth Sun 22-Jan-23 12:43:35

Was its name Clarkson?
Or Littlejohn?

LRavenscroft Sun 22-Jan-23 13:38:01

Did you see her on the Graham Norton show? I love the way she dresses and puts it all together.
