Help please.
A, B, or C ? No special occasion, just for outings.

Sarah72 Thu 29-Jun-23 19:18:14

Joseann

Thanks so much. I'm going to order A now, and will see how it sits on the waist, with maybe a change of belt.
A was sort of my 1st choice, (oh, and it's French!)

Surprised it’s French! C looks more French to me. I can’t imagine wearing any of them, but then that’s not my style of dressing.

eazybee Thu 29-Jun-23 19:21:29

Sorry,I don't like any of them, material patterns too fussy.
Very difficult to find a plain coloured dress without frills, drawstrings and voluminous sleeves at the moment.

Visgir1 Thu 29-Jun-23 19:36:01

Definitely A more on trend and agree tan leather belt would be lovely

Joseann Thu 29-Jun-23 19:46:59

Interestingly I've just been reading Woman and Home August 2023.

Marydoll Thu 29-Jun-23 19:52:10

I have one exactly the same as the yellow one, except in blue. It cost £15 in Tesco's sale. 😂

I have had so many compliments despite being vertically challenged and dumpy!

hollysteers Thu 29-Jun-23 21:03:13

A, although it’s not very exciting and seems rather expensive.

NotSpaghetti Fri 30-Jun-23 06:22:02

I think B is best - but don't fasten the neck!

mumofmadboys Fri 30-Jun-23 06:40:48

I like B the best

FannyCornforth Fri 30-Jun-23 07:07:27

I would have said A.
But I’d expect something really special for that money!

FannyCornforth Fri 30-Jun-23 07:10:16

I bought this yesterday!
A Coronation Street dress!

All depends on your figure and if you have anything to hide ( fat tum, fat bum, you can guess what else !).I wouldn’t personally choose any of them, a bit ‘frumpy’

Joseann Fri 30-Jun-23 07:37:20

I wish there were an Eastenders dress FannyCornforth with all the gritty places! I'd buy that! grin

(My DG had a lovely Cath Kidston frock with posh places on it. It's a shame their last proper shop opposite Burlington Arcade is closing).

FannyCornforth Fri 30-Jun-23 08:31:50

Yes, Joseann, I’ve noticed that Cath Kidston have gone into administration.
A shame. Some poor decisions must have been made somewhere along the line

Redhead56 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:37:08

B but the belt just around the back as I don’t like belts around my waist (which has disappeared).

Redhead56 Fri 30-Jun-23 08:39:35

Now I know! I went to Boundary Mill and wondered why the Cath Kidston counter wasn’t there such a shame.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 30-Jun-23 08:51:01

I’m with Norah, much prefer something more fitted or tailored. Probably all those years of wearing suits - I’ve become sartorially institutionalised - but shapeless does nothing for me.
Were you having a bad day Fanny? 😁

BlueBelle Fri 30-Jun-23 08:56:53

It’s really pointless asking on here because we are all different shapes sizes and opinions It’s like on fb someone says can you recommend a hairdresser/ takeaway/ pub/ school and every one with 20 miles is mentioned because everyone has their own favourite and their own opinion so totally pointless to the ‘asker’

Maya1 Fri 30-Jun-23 09:02:43

I like A and then B.

It's so hard to know what dresses look like online, they can look so nice when you try them or on the other hand so awful.

Good luck.

FannyCornforth Fri 30-Jun-23 09:12:03

Not really Shep!smile

It’s the style of dress that I like (slightly 40s / 50s, like Kirstie Allsop’s dresses) and I’m a big fan of vintage Corrie (haven’t watched it since the 90s though).

Wyllow3 Fri 30-Jun-23 09:18:29

None are ‘me’ but if pushed I would choose B if I could get rid of the tie at the neck.

Yes to that.

But I find them all a bit "fussy" as in the combination of style and print. I think dresses with a lot of print detail benefit from much simpler cut.

BigBertha1 Fri 30-Jun-23 09:54:06

Goodness me that is expensive for what it is. I think you can do better and spend less. My 2 new summer dresses are Finery and Boden combined they came to that amount. If pushed and you are OK with the cost it would be B for me.

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 30-Jun-23 11:43:52

But where were all these dresses made?

Sarah72 Fri 30-Jun-23 11:56:36

If I wore a dress that cost that much, I’d be terrified about spilling coffee (or pasta sauce!!) on it, or some such!

Germanshepherdsmum Fri 30-Jun-23 12:02:00

Are you talking about Fanny’s dress? £65???

FannyCornforth Fri 30-Jun-23 12:10:18

Germanshepherdsmum

I think they are referring to Joseann’s which is £171 (in the sale)
