There are those with lovely skin who never use any products and those with leathery wrinkles who spend a fortune on creams and magic potions. It's genetic. I don't think starting any regime at any age will reverse the ageing procedure. Applying moisturiser and avoiding the sun from puberty onwards might help, but you're basically stuck with what you've got, and, probably, what your mother and grandmother had.
Having said that, I have started using a serum - just a drop straight after showering in the morning. After breakfast and cleaning my teeth, I apply my usual day cream. I use L'Oréal which is usually quite reasonably priced, but I do go for the "65+" kind.
I don't know if it helps. I do have wrinkles and have used creams since I was 14. My face feels taut and "unwashed" if I don't put some kind of cream on.
Perhaps I should have left a square inch somewhere without cream all this time, to see if it ever made a difference.
