Can I ask you which sites/shops you use for fashion and styling inspiration? So many sites for "older women" are aimed at 50yrs, even Gransnet does this. It's 20 yrs since I was 50 and I am in need of a new look. Any suggestions ?
Marydoll my jumpers arrived today, they are so soft and comfy- very speedy delivery from Texture, and good quality too. Give M and S a run for their money, I think. Only problem now is I want more from the site 😱 must not be tempted…

As I've got older and chunkier, I find Brax jeans fit well. I like Gant knitwear and tops. Likewise Gerry Weber clothes fit me well while Hobbs is good for smart coats and dresses.
Ooh, can you show us a pic, Marydoll? That arrived quickly!
I am going to put this amethyst brooch ( bought many years ago at the hippy market in Ibiza) on it. The picture doesn't do it justice. It is a yummy blackcurrant colour.
I wear Uniqlo casual trousers about the house. The ones I am wearing are over ten years old and still going strong. I tried to buy a new pair this week, but they are sold out. They are well worth the money.
Uniqlo for basics - t shirts, jeans, Cos for a bit more inspiration, Sahara or Poetry if I want something a bit upmarket. I’d make my own occasion outfits. I try to operate a one in one out policy for clothes.
LucyAnna, I normally stick to the regular, but the length on those varies - sometimes just below the knee, sometimes knee-length, sometimes above the knee! I am only 5ft nothing, but have not had to return anything yet.
I have just looked at the Texture site - OMG, someone lock away my credit cards!
*Brightandbreezy*, I too love Fatface! I actually came out empty handed last week, as I realised that I was just about to pay nearly £60 for a jumper! I love their Simone dresses, and have about 8 of them in different fabrics! I know I can just pick one off the rail and not bother trying it on. Easy to wear in summer, bare-legged and bare-armed, in winter add thick tights and a cardi.
I like the Simone dresses too - but be aware they now often offer them in two lengths - regular and long. I bought a long one online last summer and it didn’t look right / I was able to exchange it.
Gin, it's just beside the Post Office, halfway along the main street, on the left hand side heading towards Troon. I don't know the names of the streets in Prestwick, I used to live in Troon. It is always busy. It was the first shop I visited when I stopped shielding. DH asked where I wanted to go for my first day out in two years. I chose there! 😁
