Comfortable sandals

Hi,
I am MOB in June and I'm struggling to find decent shoes or sandals that will be comfortable all day, are a wide fit, are elegant.
Not too high, not a thin heel as I would wobble all over.

Please can anyone suggest somewhere to look?

Thank you

Hotter have a sale at the moment for anyone interested. Boots and sandals. I've just ordered some biker style boots for £45 instead of £129.

Talking of sandals , I was looking at M&S sandals online. Why have they started selling so many other, very expensive brands , like Dune, Hobbs. Starting around £90 £150 in other brands too, I just wanted a pair of M&S around £30 , I found some eventually but had to scroll through all the other branded makes. Same with their clothing , more designer brands less of M&S. rant over !!!

Usually at the top you can ‘select by brand’ lilypops it gives you a drop down menu there is for colour etc, I just tick M&S and Per Una.

How about Seasalt Kimbra? They are not specifically wide fit but are very soft and comfortable.

I only wear Hotter shoes these days. I have their Tourist sandals in every colour. They are a bit clumpy but I can wear them for hours. They have just brought out a soft gold colour.

They have other styles that may be more suitable for a wedding.

Bon Marche have some nice comfy sandals. They are quite cheap but would be OK for an occasional wear. Not sure if they do wide fit though.

As others have said, maybe you could wear different shoes for the photos and then change to more comfy ones. I am sure that nobody would notice.

MOB really?
I couldn't walk across a dance floor in those!

It makes me uncomfortable just to see pointy toed or high heeled shoes.

The last wedding I went to I wore new shoes big mistake and ended the long night with blisters.

If your feet are comfortable it puts a smile on your face

I got some beautiful, elegant, fairly small heeled sandals for my sons wedding from Hobbs, they were really comfy and I m not a wearer of heels usually

I wore these ones at my daughter's wedding last year. I'm 67 and have wide feet. They were comfortable.

Although these aren't necessarily aimed at wide feet, I bought a pair last summer. I have wide feet plus a bunion on my left foot but they fit really well and are really comfortable. They've done a wedding & 2 garden parties and are waiting for their time to shine again this year.

I have been buying Hotter for about twenty years. From hiking boots to slippers to sandals and all in between. Wide fit, sensible but stylish soles, leather insoles that are washable, so good for comfort and balance.

Customer services are excellent. I phoned them recently as the pair I wanted was out of stock on line. A very helpful lady found me the last pair! She also helped sorting getting them to my daughter to get around stupid Brexit difficulties and avoiding customs duty.

I usually get my sandals from John Lewis, often their own brand ones. I have wide toes but have had no problem finding suitable shoes there. They seem to have a fair few to choose from.
It would probably be better to look online as not all are displayed or in stock in many JL stores. You can get them sent to you to try and return anything unsuitable via Waitrose stores.

When I was 'Mother of Groom' I bought navy shoes with a fairly low heel to match my outfit. I usually wear flatish shoes so after the service aand standing around for photos I was struggling. I'd put some black flats in the car for the drive to the reception and in the end just kept them on for the rest of the day. If anyone noticed they didn't say anything so don't worry too much. The navy shoes are back in their box and have never been worn since! Note to self - must get rid of them!

It sounds like Boundary Mill should be your first port of call that is where I bought my MOB outfit

Lynn1959 Fri 22-Mar-24 16:24:11

Can’t recommend highly enough Peter Kaiser shoes. I had exactly the same issues and they were perfect
