Tuaim

Please go to a salon and get a beauty therapist to re-shape and maintain.

Thank you Tuaim and crazyH for using the term Beauty Therapist.
We hate being called Beautitians.

I have my eyebrows shaped and tinted every six weeks.

I have this problem too, long wiry eyebrow hairs, but, also thinning out (fewer hairs), also very unruly. I've found Wella professional grip cream is excellent for keeping them looking groomed during the day www.wella.com/professional/en-UK/hair-styling/eimi-texture/grip-cream#/?_k=tdx33j

I get mine threaded ...and they trim the stragglers ! ....I go to a lady who has a pip up stall in a local shopping centre ....£8 ....I go every 6 to 8 weeks

I have the same problem. My hairdresser trims my eyebrowsand between visits I manage to trim them myself. It's not easy as my spectacles are in the way. If I remove them I can't see, even with a magnifiing mirror.

This is entirely my issue too.

Just wondering - having only just seen this post - if anyone uses eyebrow gel to keep their long eyebrow hairs in place?

I'm thinking of trying one but prefer recommendations.

My eyebrows disappeared ten years ago. In my younger days I had them kept in order by electrolysis. Now I occasionally have them micro bladed.

Yet another advocate of seeing a beautician for a trim, shape and tint.

Another one suggesting a salon visit! A trim, shape and tint will do marvels

I agree getting them done at the salon initially is a good idea to get them into shape. Then trim them at home if you want. If you don't want/can't go to a salon, try -

Use an eyebrow brush (like a mascara brush) to brush eyebrows upwards. Use a small scissors to take the longest ends off. You might have to hold the hairs in place with the brush while you cut (or brush soap on to keep them in place). Brush again. If you're not sure what to cut try drawing in your eye brow shape with a makeup pencil and trim away the excess. If there are curly ones don't pull them out, find where they curl and snip the curly bit off. I do this about every two or three weeks using a huge magnifying glass and my glasses and a bright light so I can see what I am doing. Don't keep doing one eyebrow before starting the other incase you have to stop before you complete them, and end up with two different eyebrows 🙄

I had my brows done for the first time when I was 70. 5 years on - I’d never go back to doing it myself

Greyduster Mon 20-May-24 12:42:57

Like MiniMoon my hairdresser trims mine when she cuts my hair. I don’t usually have to trim them between visits.

Shinamae Mon 20-May-24 12:34:06

Quite happy with mine as our salon done every six weeks I am putting this on to try and push those bloody bots off 🙄

Have a professional to trim your eyebrows. My beauty therapist comes to my house every 6 weeks - does a pedicure and eyebrow waxing and tinting - £38 for both but I give her£40 - well worth it

I get mine done at the salon. A wax and shape costs £9. She also brushes the hairs upwards and trims them, I do that at home too.

Shinamae Fri 17-May-24 23:01:26

I would definitely say that’s a job for a salon, I go every six weeks and have my eyebrows waxed and tinted and it’s just gone up to £22 but I think it’s worth it…
I never ever did pluck my eyebrows thank goodness and have been going to have them done professionally now for about 12 years, money well spent in my opinion

You can buy a woman's face and body hair trimmer, they have an attachment for eyebrows... They have different attachments for eyebrows, bikini, nose hair and facial hair... Love mine

The eyebrow attachment shortens the eyebrow hairs

Take yourself to a salon that deals in eyebrows.

Having real problems with my terrible eyebrows! Though my hair is very fine my eyebrows are long and wired. Some as long as an inch or more. I’m really struggling as to how to ‘groom’ them. I don’t wear very much makeup and am not keen on pencilled in eyebrows. I’ve tried trimming them with scissors. Plucking the edges but impossible to pluck the brows because otherwise I am left with gaping hole! Really could do with some advice as to how others deal with this problem. Really hoping for a solution please!
