Joules get it right.

I know we all got sick in the past of their ubiquitous striped Breton tops but I think they have made a welcome return to the market place - albeit online .
I have just bought a sweatshirt top to join another I wear a lot, and what I like is the combination of warmth for cooler days, like today (16C and cloudy) but “summery” colours so it doesn’t look as is I’m wearing my winter woollies.
Ideal for a UK Spring/summer IMO.

Not a fan of Joules, as I bought a leather saddle bag, and later discovered to my dismay that the magnet closure was much too weak. Stuff was falling out on the bus, and rolling under the seats.

Jaxjacky - so that is why the branches in the Lakes are still open! 😎
I’m hooked on Seasalt at the moment, but buying from Vinted if possible.

I bought a lovely green padded coat from Joules in the winter. Ordered online and collected it from Next. I love their clothes, they wash well and look like new years later!

Moving on to accessories, I'm really delighted with my small Joules backpack this summer. Ideal for the beach, the market, days out etc.

I've bought a few things from Joules this year including a short navy 'Chanel' style jacket which I bought last week and which is gorgeous and timeless. I also bought a navy and pink rugby style shirt which I've almost lived in. I really like the attention to detail in their clothes.

I've only bought children's wellies from Joules. DD tried to buy a second hand pair on FB market place and DGD was gutted that someone got there first. So I splashed out lol and bought them new from Joules.
I do like Joules clothes but prefer to buy most of my clothes from EB or similar sites to recycle clothing. That way I can sell when I've finished wearing it and buy different clothes for a fraction of the high street cost.

I am not permitted to buy any more stripy tops. My wardrobe has spoken firmly to me on this matter.

🤣

I prefer them a little bit longer than OP. I don’t like stretching and showing skin

I love Cotton Traders tops - they last and last and ... I've just looked in my wardrobe and they have. The last new top I bought was three years ago. I haven't bought any new stuff at all for over a year. Next week I shall not buy plants for the snails to eat, but go clothes shopping.

Out of interest Joseanne - do they wear Breton tops en Bretagne ?
Or are they as much of a giveaway as a GB plate? gringrin

Loads of navy and white long sleeved ones in the market yesterday, RosiesMaw, from 6 months upwards. I'm going to buy one each for DGSs. I think they were 15 - 20 euros. French people wear them where we are in Brittany because we're on the coast in a sailing area.

By the way, why do some posters look up the price when someone posts on here, then start tutting how expensive something is

Indeed!
Plain nosiness?
I certainly did not pay the price referred to upthread.

In my case l thought it looked nice and l might buy it, or similar, I hardly see how that's "plain nosiness".

Ah, but did you tut?

JaneJudge Sun 02-Jun-24 14:57:49

I like all their peasant stuff
I actually bought a really nice pair of joules navy culottes in the charity shop last week for £4

I really used to like Joules, but went off them when they seemed to go mad with pink on everything. I’m just not a pink person.

I buy most of my summer tops from SeaSalt, their cotton sailor tops with elbow length sleeves suit me fine unless there’s a real heatwave.

I bought 2 from Crew clothing which are good quality and great for transitioning from spring to summer.

Cotton Traders have what looks like a really nice Breton top in a soft blue and white stripe, a navy and a few other colours.
Only £20 and look good quality.

I tried to buy the blue version on line a few months ago, but all outlets were sold out. I am still a fan of Joules.

Try eBay- manufacturers often put ends of lines on there.
Incidentally the “pink” is more like a peach (😳yes, I bought that too!)

I thought I had purchased a reduced one from Ebay, but the seller messaged to apologise that it was no longer available and gave a refund. As all other attempts elsewhere failed, I have since chosen a slightly similar top from Cotton Traders which I am wearing to death! Perfect for this time of year.

BlueBelle Sat 01-Jun-24 17:45:33

Way too expensive for my pocket, nothing special enough for me Each to their own

kittylester Sat 01-Jun-24 17:41:48

Love the blue one!

*Rosies*! For goodness' sake! You just made me go and spend money at Seasalt! 🤣

Not hard @ Baggs - hope you got the sale prices/offers!

Not keen myself - looks like a Pajama top - but each to their own (although I do realise from past posts that were not really supposed to disagree). Pricey (for me) too at £69.95, but again we’re all different.

It wasn’t £69.95
