Whilst I totally agree with keepingquiet about the fact that sandals won’t give you the same support as a walking boot, I also have to say that I have two pairs of sandals almost identical to fairislecable which I basically live and die in. I was in Niagara Falls and New York this summer walking anything up to 12 miles a day and, for streets and parks, they were ideal but not so good for hills or steep slopes. Walking shoes or boots can be very hot in the summer especially with the sort if thick wooden socks that are normal do I thoroughly recommend sandals, with walking shoes and socks, in case the terrain changes, in my day sack.
