Leggings That Don't Stretch

I bough two pairs of M and S leggings, they weren't the cheapest ones. They have both stretched and would fit some one two suzes bigger than me and I haven't lost weight although half heartily trying.
Any recommendations for leggings test keep their shape please.

Why not take them back and get your money back doesn’t sound as if they are fit for use

I have also got some M & S leggings that have 'grown'! They fitted really well when I first bought them and I certainly haven't lost any significant weight but the leggings are really loose fitting and far too long. This must have been a particular style/fabric range because I have other M & S leggings that fit really well and keep their shape.

I have about 8 pairs of M & S leggings, so I am a bit of an expert! Yes, I know it's a lot, but I am a ballet and dance fanatic.
You need to check the label for the elastane/spandex content. You can tell the difference. For example the ones in the left pile have only 5% spandex and they do stretch and wrinkle.
The spandex ones on the right are 22% spandex, they are shinier and tighter, more like fitness pants, and never go out of shape. However, I use the softer ones for dog walking because they are more comfortable, though I do agree that they get too long and baggy after several wears. They also get more holes in them.

I think this is the little symbol you need to look out for on tight ones.

I have some of those Joseann which I use in the gym.
....Mine are still too tight! 😂

I’ve had several pairs from Mint Velvet that I would recommend.

Sainsbury leggings I always found kept their shape.

Nothing worse than standing up and finding your trousers are still sitting down.

I wear the 22% spandex ones as shape wear under my trousers and find them great, I do go for he shiny ones as they don't cling to my trousers.

I have been buying Mint Velvet leggings for the last few years and they are excellent. They keep both their shape and colour. A little pricier than M & S but you gain extra wearing time.

Rainbows & Sprinkles are fab. They mainly do gaudy patterned ones, but I have had a pair of their plain black performance leggings for 3 years now, I wear them regularly, they haven’t stretched at all and look as good as new. R & S may seem very expensive (I notice they’re £10 dearer than when DD1 bought mine for my birthday), but they last so long they’re really worth it.

With M and S if you have washed the item, no refund, they say its down to how they have been washed incorrectly.

I have a couple of pairs of Lands End leggings which wash well and are still a good, close fit 3 years on.

I love Mint Velvet leggings.

It’s probably because M&S leggings are mainly cotton ( which I prefer). I’ve just bought some Llama leggings which are synthetic. I haven’t worn them yet but I’m sure they’ll keep their shape but will be much hotter to wear if we ever get any warm weather.

Adanola. They are really comfortable (not cheap though) and are very slimming. I’ve thrown away my other leggings as the Adanola were always my go to.

Boden are the best leggings I’ve found, the ones I’ve got are about five years old and still look good. They’re made from Viscose and Spandex (I didn’t actually know this but checked the label after reading this thread). I wear long ones in winter and cropped ones in summer. Never stretch, don’t wrinkle. They’re not as expensive as you would think either, 20ish pounds.

A friend recommended the Confident Curve leggings from 'Very' for me a couple of years ago.
I've found them to be really good... massive range of sizes (plus and petite!), wash well and hold their shape.
Very reasonable price and have a bit of hold for slightly wobbly bits wink

For the past few years, I have bought all my leggings from M&Co. Yes, I know they shut all the stores, but you can still buy stock online. They do a perfect cropped legging for £12, £14 for full length. Only in navy and black. They fit me perfectly at 5ft 6, and they have 5% elastane, never lose their shape.

NEXT - for anyone who doesn't like leggings with a high content of synthetics. They have some now which are mainly cotton which I find more comfortable. They also have belt loops. Hurrah! I hate the saggy bottom look.

I have always bought leggings in Pakistani or Turkish owned shops and have never had a pair that stretched!

Fat Face leggings are excellent.

Frenchgalinspain Sat 13-Jul-24 17:06:33

OYSHO, provide high resistant support for intense workouts and silicone waist bands, and come in medium waist and high waisted styles.

They are highly stylized without restricting movement.

Approx 26 - 45 €uros.

The black are dressy enough to wear with a gorgeous sweater of beautiful long blouse / shirt and a long jacket as well.

They are machine washable 30 centig degrees - never bleach and are long lasting.

I have many pairs which I use for gym, walking our French bull dog, going to market, attending trade fairs and going out for lunch / dinner / tapas crawls. They look great with sport shoes, boots, heels, ballerinas etcetra.

AND NEVER STRETCH.

My leggings are from Belles and co. Expensive at about £35 but I wear them twice a week and they’ve been washed at least 50 times and no sagging whatsoever
