I agree LucyAnna.. I have lots of linen loose jackets and duster coats in a range of sludgey colours and neutrals.. and also kimonos..

DD2 loves that One Hundred Stars range - almost kimono like.
She’s a wheelchair user and finds they finish off her look, without adding extra bulk (b*ggers to iron though!).

I think jackets make jeans for example look classy, and are very fashionable this year. M&S have lots on their website.
I loved a blue velvet jacket that I wore to work in the 80s, and I’m still a fan of velvet jackets but they’re not fashionable now….but M&S have a blue one!

I guess, though, it’s whether you want your jeans to “look classy”. Probably to the disdain of many, I have never aimed to look classy! I love clothes, but I like to feel comfortable, and to wear things that suit what I’m doing daily. Maybe depends where you live too - we’re a bit ‘out in the sticks’.

PS I don't care what the fashion is. I wear what I think suits me and what I like whether it's fashionable or not. Though, to be fair, I don't usually have the faintest idea what is fashionable.

When it comes to baked potatoes I'm definitely a jacket person. Otherwise not so much. I own one "smart" jacket. It was my mum's and I wore it to her funeral with a scarf of hers too, in remembrance.

Where I now live, every kind of coat is called a jacket. I think of jackets as formal wear and, partly because there has been little need for formal wear in my life (or I've achieved it without a jacket), and partly because I prefer woolly jumpers when it comes to keeping warm, my jacket-life has been and will remain minimal.

Anoraks though (smart ones natch!)..... and duffle coats.....

Love jackets , have denim in blue, beige , white , green.
Biker jackets in suede and leather different colours.
Longer jackets with ruched cuffs for jeans etc
Boucle jacket white navy lovely with jeans and a few others.
Hate coats, but puffy wet weather sort a must with no car a necessity unfortunately.

Gilets and classic Barbour's are the best inventions. Not quite the thing for weddings, funerals etc, but then......why not?

Love my jackets, not tailored, one denimfor summer. Like to have layers in winter,jacket easily removed and can finish an outfit nicely.
As for "body warmers" can't abide them, body warm, arms freezing. For gardeners only in my view.

Well I thought I had found my dream jacket. Went to try it on, found I’m halfway between two sizes and it was too long in the body, so I dream on! It was lovely - good material, nice detailing. Broke my heart to walk out without it. The quest resumes😩!

I like jackets, but not the puffa-type ones that make people look like the Michelin Man. I had a quilted cotton one which I've worn to ribbons, but can't find anything similar. That's a great mac, Kate.

I’ll see if I have still got the details. They are made in the US. Because it was a special present from DH he paid far more than I would have ever paid. I’m more if a charity shop person. It was in the sale at £120.00 I know outrageous 😳
