Yes it's the getting past the ankle bit that's really difficult for me. I don't like wide trousers on me, but will check out the Italian magic trousers. I did find some leggings with ankle zips on Matalan, but otherwise they are too close-fitting for me.

Apparently M&S Carrot Top jeans are very popular!

Cabbie, Bonmarche sells a good selection of leg lengths in jeans.

Does anyone know a reputable place to buy light coloured knitted leggings? (I just got a pair off ebay seller and they are rubbish.)

I find most trousers tricky as I need different sizes for waist, hips, thighs, leg length.

Wide-legged trousers are in, Jennerdysphoria.

They are, but I don't think they flatter anyone with a smaller bust than hip measurement.
I've bought them in the past but have never felt really happy in them. The last few pairs went in the charity shop pile earlier this summer 🤦

I would say jeggings are harder to remove than jeans as they are narrow at the ankle, yes they do stretch but you would probably need to pull them past your feet, and if you tend to have a bit of a belly due to middle age spread you can end up looking a bit Humpty Dumpty tbh. I have been wearing Italian magic trousers the last few years, you can buy them cheaply on Amazon, they are a draw cord elastic waist band and the magic bit is that they have a 5 way stretch. They also come in loads of colours and good size combos .

Leggings or jeggings

I dislike the feel of leggings or leggings, they give me the heebie jeebies.

I have tried jeggings but I find that they ride up and crease around my knees - don't know if my legs are too fat or too thin.

Does anyone else experience this with leggings?

Correction! I missed out an N in SIENNA. Struggling with the wretched advertisements that constantly cover the page making it difficult to type.

Aldom Fri 06-Sept-24 16:21:55

This morning I bought a pair of black (other colours available) straight leg jeans from the SIENA range. They are cotton with stretch, high rise.
I'm delighted with these trousers from Marks and Spencer. They are a heavier weight, suitable for the colder weather.

I agree twinnytwin they’re all I wear.

The trend now is not to have slim jeans so you can be up-to-date and comfortable with the wider leg jeans. Straight leg jeans are great. M&S (and other shops) have lots of different styles. I love mine.

I wear M&S jeggings in preference to jeans these days most of the time - nice and stretchy, lots of colours, no fastenings. You really need to try them on though, to make sure they are comfortable. Mine fit well at the top but the designers seem to think I should have stick thin calves.

I positively live in M&S ‘cosy’ jeggings during the colder months. I have 4 pairs in different colours - I love them!

JaneJudge Fri 06-Sept-24 14:05:23

the tesco ones have loads of stretch in them

you can get jeggings which are like a denim legging. Is that what you mean? They are easy to get on and off and much more comfortable than jeans

DanniRae Fri 06-Sept-24 11:23:40

Leggings are definitely easier than jeans to get on and off!

Jennerdysphoria Fri 06-Sept-24 11:12:26

I really love jeans, but now finding the slim ones hard to get off as my legs and arms are weak. I imagine leggings would be even more difficult, but people say they are easy on and off?
