Wool Everywhere!

I have a wool allergy. Actually I have sensory issues (as they say these days) to various fabrics but wool sets my eczema off a treat. I even break out if I've just lightly touched something made of wool or that's only a percentage of wool. And no I can't wear a blouse underneath, it doesn't work. Neither does merino, alpaca or any other wool.

It's woollen jumpers galore this year. The few non wool offerings I've found are truly "old lady'ish" and not remotely stylish let alone fashionable or attractive. Oddly enough there are plenty of rather nice cardigans in viscose. I've scoured the internet but to no avail and I'm thoroughly fed up.

In the winter I generally live in trousers, jumpers and boots. Now what do I do? Has anyone else got a wool allergy or know of a secret outlet for non wool jumpers?

I have to wear natural fibres, around anything acrylic, viscose like the plague. I buy most from Lands End, they have just about everything, I buy winter in summer and summer in winter in the sales. They're impressive. Also. Cotton Traders. Go online, Lands End UK. Brilliant imo.

Sorry, around is AVOID. lol. My tablet just changes everything.

Me too - so I only buy acrylics.

Most of the regular stores have a good selection of non-wool jumpers.

Wool doesn't make me itch, but sweat profusely, no matter how fine it is. It has come on gradually since I had my children 40-odd years ago. Even a woollen scarf is too much for me.

I've just bought a viscose jumper from Roman which feels comfortable.
To be extra awkward I can't wear anything high necked either. They make me feel claustrophobic and don't suit me anyway. Oh, and being small I don't suit anything chunky. I hate winter clothes! Rant over!

Oh Claretjan, I'm just the same. I'm small but fairly well endowed. I can't stand high necks and they don't suit me either. V necks are my favourite. But trying to find non woollen jumpers with V necks is a seemingly impossible task.

I'm off to Edinburgh for a browse around the shops. If I find suitable knitwear I'll let you know!

Please have a look at Cotton Traders - their "Cutest Cable" knitwear ( 50% Viscose 28% Polyester 22% Polyamide). Unbelievably soft and warm - so much so I've got 3 of the
jumpers. They also come in cardigans and tunics.

Good luck Claretjan. If you find a stash of attractive, V neck viscose jumpers please let me know! Meanwhile I've checked out the Roman website and have ordered 3 jumpers, they tick the right boxes so fingers crossed.

Have you tried Bonmarche, they have lots of non wool jumpers also mail order catalogues like JDWilliams, Chums, Damart and Cotton Traders, they all sell non wool jumpers.

Didn't find much in Edinburgh Flappergirl . Ended up with a jumper from M&, not v neck but it's viscose! This jumper from M&Co has popped up on my Newsfeed. Not the most exciting but lots of colours. www.mandco.com/mco-purple-long-sleeve-v-neck-knitted-jumper-p

I also have a wool allergy, but only mild.
Last week I bought 3 jumpers from Roman. I am very pleased with them.
