As my skin has aged I've found using a lighter weight foundation is better than using one that gives the best coverage. If I then cover up any noticeable blemishes with a heavier foundation in the same colour I get the best of both worlds. I also use a brush to apply foundation which is much better than fingers or a sponge but use as little as I can. I use a primer which helps minimise bigger pores and always cleanse and apply an AHA product before going to bed. I think Boots no7 products are good value if you don't want to spend too much otherwise I'm a bit of a Clarin's fan which is a lot more expensive but seems to last ages.
