No no Boots. Why is this discontinued?

Loved No 7 Hydral Luminous Skin Perfector.

It’s a very lightly tinted moisturiser which leaves skin looking fresh. No caking, smooths in easily with just a hint of colour. Ideal for ageing skin.

Now it’s been discontinued. Need a replacement.

Reading the reviews others are having difficulties finding a replacement too.

Any suggestions please?

This?
I might buy some. Dior. Great reviews for a ‘dewy’ look.

From the Telegraph: (which piqued my interest)

“ I’ve not really used a proper foundation for a few years. I tend just to use a little tinted moisturiser all over, and a bit of concealer where I need it. But there is one product that has changed all of that: Dior’s £48 Forever Skin Perfect multi-use foundation stick, one of the best foundations I have ever tried by far.

I was introduced to it while on a trip to the Cannes Film Festival last spring. Dior Makeup’s creative director Peter Philips was enthusiastically showing me and a couple of other beauty editors his most exciting launch in years: a shiny, palm-sized black case with a foundation stick within.

But Dior has spent five years developing the Forever foundation stick. Since its launch in the UK last autumn, it has been flying off shelves, which is not always a given for a luxury make-up product. But I can see why – rather than looking cakey on the skin and feeling drying, this foundation stick goes on like butter.

It’s also incredibly easy to use – just scribble on where you need it and blend – and there’s no need for concealer, either. “You can draw the stick straight on to your skin, and then blend it in with a brush or a beauty blender,” says Philips. I’ve been using a brush, which blends the foundation beautifully on to the skin, but I’ve also used my fingers and it works very well. You have a minute or two to blend the product in before it sets.

“The make-up result is a ‘filter’-like finish,” says Philips, “luminous and perfecting.”

It can of course be used all over the face, but for the most natural finish, just apply it where you feel you need to even out the complexion a little, and blend. It has enough coverage to cover my dark circles, which is always impressive in my book. I also love that it’s a portable size and easy to carry around for quick touch-ups or for travelling. It hasn’t left my handbag in weeks, and has become my go-to foundation for evening events.“

It sounds like the old Max Factor Panstick.
How many remember that?

Drink lots of water ladies. Obvious but effective x. Ps I have no idea why brands get discontinued. But i hate how a lot of men make a lot of money out of trying to get women to feel like they are inadequate.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 22-Mar-25 20:41:30

True uttb! 😂
Just need some American tan tights to go with and peep toe white sandals …

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 22-Mar-25 20:47:35

I don’t think men do that to us Franski. 🤔
I think the majority of women who wear make up just enjoy doing so - for their own pleasure.

It's a bit expensive, but Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter is really nice. I bought the smaller size to try it out, and am tempted to buy it again. I normally use a Canadian brand called Marcelle, they make a Sheer Tint Moisturizer, but not sure if it is available in UK. It's less than half the price of the CT one.

Makeup protects you from the sun and nasty skin cancers, least the stuff they have here does. Good enough reason for me. I always wear it outdoors.

Sounds like a perfect cut&paste from Dior’s press release… 🙄

I just looked on net, and you canget Marcelle make-up. Bit dear though. Then a site called on buy. Com came up. They have a foundation which goes on white, then changes to your skin colour? They also have Pan stik as well. My sister used that. Lol.

Les1950 Mon 24-Mar-25 14:28:54

Just read a review on the colour changing make up. The first one said it was great, but others said it didn't work, or it smelt horrid! Oh well.

I would recommend L’Oreal true match nude tinted serum. Has 1% hyaluronic acid. Very moisturising in a range of shades. You don’t need foundation. Cost about £12 from Superdrug.

Franski Mon 24-Mar-25 14:59:17

When you're at home alone, do you wear make up..? I don't and I look a mess and love it. That's why I wonder about it and who it's for. I don't go outdoors without foundation, mascara and lippy and am not sure why the double standards for myself.... xxx loving the thread

Susieq62 Mon 24-Mar-25 15:00:07

Never use make up too cloggy. Factor 50 moisturiser is enough.

Boots are closing many of their shops. The ones in smaller shopping centres may still be open, but they haven't got much to sell. They don't have enough staff, and many of those still working are not very pleasant. When I am forced to shop in Boots I find I have to queue, and as I can't stand for long, it's just not worth it to then find they don't have what I want.

Boots is now owned by an American company, which is not doing at all well in the States, so I suggest you find another outlet for what you need.

I read good reviews of this product and would be interested to hear from anybody who has tried it.

Personally I like MAC cosmetics, though I don't wear much. Their foundations come in a wide range with different coverage and colour for everyone, their sales people aren't too pushy and will put foundation on for you if you have time.

That’s because it is. FGT does say ^from the telegraph.

It’s a well recognised fact that the way women dress and apply make-up is influenced by the opinion of other women, not men. I doubt there’s a man on the planet who likes filled lips, caked on make/up, fake eyelashes (and fake anything else?m)

Greciangirl Mon 24-Mar-25 16:39:48

Boots in my town has now converted to self service tills.
I hate them and now avoid going in there unless I have to.

DianaLouise Mon 24-Mar-25 16:50:52

I find Boots No7 tinted moisturiser excellent when I do not wish to wear foundation its ideal for going shopping etc

Marg75 Mon 24-Mar-25 21:16:38

I use Nivea Tinted Day Cream 24H Moisturizer, Light Skin Tone. It goes on very easily. Also a blusher brushed on.
