I have used L’Oreal face creams for a few years now. Opened a new jar this morning and now my face is flushed and feels hot. Can anyone recommend a good, hypoallergenic product?

I also have sensitive skin, and have found that Nivea Soft is an excellent product. I use it now under a light powder for daytime, and also use it as a night-time moisturiser. Worth a try for you.

In 1986, I had a very serious reaction to a well known brand. The Dr took one look at me and literally gasped. I had 2 tiny holes for eyes and my entire face and most of my neck was like a huge red mass. I had to take anti inflammatory and apply a steroid cream. It calmed down but left me with susper sensitive skin and some residual redness. Eventually a dermatologist recommended Cetraben cream. It works. You only need a little, leave it for a few minutes and dab any oiliness off. I also, after years of not being able to tolerate foundation to cover the patches of redness, discovered that I can use Estee Lauder foundation.

I use La Roche Posay, possibly slightly more expensive than L'Oreal but it has never upset my skin. There are a few different ranges, sold by Boots and various online stores. Their own site is www.laroche-posay.co.uk/ and this tells you about the different ranges. Personally I like the Hydraphase and Nutrititc ranges, both of which also come in a "richer" version for dryer skin. I think that there is 20% off at the moment, there is usually an offer somewhere online anyway.

I use all of CeraVe products. My skin is very sensitive and even Olay doesn't work for me.

Can’t go wrong with Simple! Years of trial and error brought me here. I like their Vital Vitamin Day Cream but have to get it on line now.

I’ve got super sensitive eczema prone skin and get on really well with Alturist products available online or via Amazon. Incredible value too.

Simple products are a good bet for sensitive skin.

I have rosacea and I've tried just about everything, even Simple doesn't suit me. The best I've tried is Cerave, La Roche Posay Toleriane and Clarins - Hydra Quench and the Double Serum. Us sensitive types seem to have different triggers so it really is a case of trial and error until you find what your skin can tolerate. Lumene is worth a try, they're scandanavian, I like their CC cream.

MooGoo is lovely very gentle and has the gorgeous smell of natural vanilla extract. Ebay has it, or large health food shops with a toiletries dept.

I like their cleansing wipes. I have really sensitive skin, especially round my eyes, and I was surprised to find that I could clean eye make up off with them with no reaction.

Australian Moogoo is really nice. Anything absent of fragrance or parfum should be more pleasant for your skin.

I suffer from extremely sensitive skin with multiple allergies and eczema. I use Liz Earle Superskin moisturiser, Epaderm for nighttime and Aveeno for body. Daily moisturising with these products ensures I have no problems.

Can I also put a heads up for having sensitive skin and after quite a few years have become sensitive to Clarins factor 50 - blotchy and skin goes dry and peels. Have now changed to Avene, factor 50 🤞.

For moisturiser I use Pure from M&S.

Dee1012 I have finally managed to get some of the Boots moisturiser, there isn’t a branch near here. I’ll let you know how I get on with it.

I got a tub of the Boots moisturiser, it doesn't sit on the skin as some do its a bit light but see how it goes. I don't think any moituriser cures or prevents wrinkles. I think only retinol can help and the amount in any pot however costly wouldn't do much good. It's lifestyle, sun protection, moisturise, good food and moderate exercise in the fresh air that helps.

There are a lot of additives in modern skin-care and, in the effort to find a new product last year, I ended up twice with a stripe of rosacea down my face, (I dont have rosacea) looking like I had been swiped by a triffid. I've used Liz Earle for many years but they changed their moisturiser.

I'm using Tropic's Re-leaf at the moment and it's been great. It's thinner than a cream moisturiser so it took a bit of getting used to and realising you don't need as much as you might think. As my Liz Earle runs out I will try a new Tropic products. I read that Liz Earle has been sold on twice so I feel it's beginning to lack the original owners input.

Ponds cold cream is my favourite. My mother used it too especially after using stage makeup. Love it

I have been using the Boots moisturiser for the past week and it’s been fine. Thanks for all your help and advice.
