posset Ebay or Vinted has them.
My daughter spent about £30 on hers I think.
It's stunning.

I get really exasperated by clothing that is aimed at the mature woman with tiny cap, or no sleeves! I am much bigger, but I feel your pain. Even in plus size shops - ridiculous.

As to swim suits - I need my bust and my tum supported

Oh crikey... Just remembered a totally fabulous brand

www.olvis-lace.com/

The lace is luxurious, stretchy, beautifully crafted and many styles hug the wearer.
If it was an important event I'd look there..
My daughter bought one beautiful figure hugging long sleeved dress from vinted at a massive reduction.
I bought one with a full skirt and we'll fitted bodice (in a sale I hasten to add!) a few years ago.
Totally stunning!

Just looked at this site - the prices are WAY out of my league, as I suspect is the case for a lot of us!

I was going to suggest you join a dressmaking class PDQ

AuntieE Tue 26-Aug-25 17:22:50

No, clothes in our sizes, I am about the same size as you, are made to suit 14 or 15 year old teenagers, as these days most women are far larger.

So, either you need to try charity shops, make you own clothes or find a good dress-maker.

I love dogs - tall, willowy sisters: life is just so unfair.
I'm little and chunky so my look is mostly " try not to frighten the horses".

Sarahr Tue 26-Aug-25 15:22:49

Have you ever made your own clothes? Perhaps you can have something made for you by a local seamstress.

mabon2 Tue 26-Aug-25 14:20:58

Hobbs, Phase Eight and Roman do great petite sizes with long sleeves.

My friend hates showing her arms and uses these under lovely dresses. They look very elegant.
Would you consider these or plain ones?

Disappointingly, in this shop, my size fourteen means I must buy the size marked " heffalump".

Oh Chocolatelovinggran, I'm a sort-of odd size13 !!!
I'm only 5ft tall so I have to be careful what I wear too.
I dread formal occasions because I look like Wee Jimmy Cranky in drag! My sister's are both tall & willowy!
In the end you just have to accept your own-self as a unique, authentic person and get-on with life. Big wobbly bits un-all! 😊
Which is harder than one thinks actually!

Sorry, NotSpaghetti, it's a continuation of my Zara post. I love their clothes, but ....

crazyH Mon 25-Aug-25 14:25:57

Btw I’m not being sarcastic

NotSpaghetti Mon 25-Aug-25 14:25:19

Chocolatelovinggran 😱

Which shop are you looking at?

crazyH Mon 25-Aug-25 14:24:47

Lucky you dreamspirit !

Check out Zara, too. It's mostly aimed at a younger clientele, but it's well worth looking through the range, as there are some lovely clothes there.
They are cut for small, slim Spanish women so might well be just right for you.

My previous message wasn't intended for you. Got posted in the wrong place!

dreamspirit Mon 25-Aug-25 12:10:56

To NotSpaghetti, that website looks brill! Right up my strada and exactly what I've been looking for. Thank you!

dreamspirit Mon 25-Aug-25 11:05:45

Yes, I saw some but, again, not in size 6 - well, not in the ones I saw anyway.

Have a look at Crew, usually known for their sporty casual wear. But they also do dresses, with sleeves. I’ve worn two of theirs this week, one to a funeral and one to a christening.

Lathyrus3 Mon 25-Aug-25 09:23:25

A little trip to France?

You’ll find plenty just your shape and with sleeves🙂

I buy Italian. They cut for women with hips.

NotSpaghetti Mon 25-Aug-25 08:57:50

John lewis has some too.

NotSpaghetti Mon 25-Aug-25 08:54:35

Have you looked at Phase Eight?
Or Roman or Coast?
All do petite and all have evening dresses with long sleeves.
Do you need something that is "body-con" or just fitted?

dreamspirit Mon 25-Aug-25 08:34:39

I'm getting very frustrated trying to find evening dresses that cater for wrinkly arms etc., but also for those of us who are slim and petite. I'm 78, and want to cover my arms now. I've kept in shape and still have a 25" waist, but I'm 5'3" and look drowned if dressed in anything that isn't fitted. If I find a dress that's age appropriate it isn't made in size 6, and if I find dresses that fit me they are unlikely to have full length sleeves. Surely someone has got this gap in the market covered. Anyone know?
