I have lots of cute little summer dresses, sleeveless and knee length, but now cooler weather is here I needed sleeves and midi length. I went first of all to SeaSalt and was surprised to find I didn’t like anything. Same with FatFace, Joules and Roman. Fortunately White Stuff saved the day and I have ordered this piece of loveliness 😎.

I absolutely love this dress and now I want one.

I was just looking on Hobbs site for a new coat and those animal print Mary Jane’s are on there £110.

White stuff and Fatface are my favourite shops at mo. M & S is not inspiring me at all with their Autumn collection. I like Next jeans dressed up with White Stuff tops

I like Seasalt. Their dresses are just a bit different and their cardigans are good too. I always buy their organic cotton ones as I don’t like wool.

A really good choice Blossoming, you’ll look the bee’s knees! 😊

That is a very nice dress.

After the horror show of the last couple of years where women’s dresses have been long floppy sleeved, sludge coloured, patterned, often tiered horrors in slimy synthetic fabrics, this season’s offerings are decidedly elegant.

Not that I dare wear dresses outside in cold weather with Reynaud’s Syndrome as I’d freeze to death. I live in jeans and dream of dresses.

Nice dress but although warm its too low cut for me, gone off Joules, they are stuck in a rut now, Seasalt patterns the same.
Just bought a nice dress from Fat Face, I like my dresses to cover my chest but no cowls or polo necks as have a big bust.

Allsorts my current favourite dress is this gorgeous teal Adele dress from FatFace. I’m short with a generous amount of bosom and unfortunately I am now a dress size 14. All my previous dresses are size 16. Shift dresses look OK but the FatFace dress slips off my shoulders all the time. Judicious use of wraps and camisoles preserve my modesty smile

My new dress was delivered this afternoon, MrB brought it over for me. It fits perfectly and the deep v-neck sits flat against my skin, so not revealing. Love it, it’s now hanging in the wardrobe to let me creases fall out.

That is a lovely dress, Blossoming!

I tend to wear dresses only for occasions, never on a regular day. I'm a jeans and t-shirt gal.

Might be better in a steamy bath or shower room. It’s a lovely dress.

A beautiful dress!

Beautiful dress, lovely colour, but the frill at the bottom ? No. Not at my age anyway .

Erm, it doesn’t have a frill at the bottom.

Yes it does, all around .*Blossoming. Well the one in the photograph, the green one does *

Inspired by Blossoming I bought a beautiful dress from Seasalt. Their size 16 is perfect for me. It arrived yesterday and had a weird fishy smell. Apparently this isn’t uncommon! I washed it and it is fine. I’ll find a picture.

No it doesn’t. Please look at the green one in the photo in my original post. I know it doesn’t because it’s now in my wardrobe grin

I think you’ve confused it with the 2 year old photo I posted further down the thread of a green dress that I already own.

Yes , sorry, I did. Anyway first dress is lovely.

Brown isn’t an easy colour to wear, especially as you get older.
I may buy some brown bootcut trousers in a warm jersey material, but wouldn’t wear that colour as a top.

It surprises me that dresses now appear to be made for six footers when so many older women are short or only 5’ 7 at the most.

That dress is lovely - the fabric is beautiful. I make all my clothes and am always on the look out for inspiration. I feel the cold so usually have a matching cotton polo neck under my dresses during the winter.

Which style did you go for, Ladyleftfieldlover? I have some lovely Seasalt dresses, but nothing caught me my fancy when I was shopping for this latest one. I’m sure I’ll be back soon though!

This is the dress - I'm afraid you will have to open the link as I can't seem to copy the actual photo!

If you like this dress, or any other you see, you can go on Pinterest, put in the name of the dress and it will bring up others like it.

If you want some ideas on styling just put in "styling a midi cord dress" and again, this will bring up ideas.

You may know this but I've only just found it so though I would share!

It's lovely, by the way. Cleverly this season - green, cord - but also pretty and classic.
