The headgear, I mean.
Today at The Vatican.

A murder of crows comes to mind -this has nothing to do with my personal feelings about Camilla .
I may not like her - but I wish her well and happy .

Bukkie Thu 23-Oct-25 22:43:59

All of you who call Camilla names seem to forget Diana wasn't the innocent victim. She had several affairs with married men and manipulated the press to her advantage. Charles and Camilla are well suited and happily married. She is good for him

The OP asked for comments about her headwear.

Thank you Ziplock. That was indeed what I was asking, placing the OP under the Style and Beauty heading. (Some posters might know that I'm often interested in fashion on here).

To be honest I think the votes come in at 50/50. Personally, I like the soft drape of the voile, but not the spikey leaves.

The image was taken from Tatler.

Queen Camilla dressed in black, but some other royal women are permitted to wear white around the pope
The tradition known as "il privilegio del bianco," or "the privilege of the white," is extended to designated Catholic queens and princesses
She followed tradition with her black ensemble, wearing a silk dress by Fiona Clare and a mantilla by Philip Treacy. The look emulated some of Queen Elizabeth’s outfits for her audiences with the leader of the Catholic Church

Allira Thu 23-Oct-25 22:23:20

Mantilla designed by Philip Treacy.

LOUISA1523 Thu 23-Oct-25 22:22:05

Its probably not her best look but its ok.
I actually like Camilla 😊

Allira Thu 23-Oct-25 22:20:43

Btw - Camilla's first husband is Catholic and so are her children, although she did not convert, but she will know the protocol.

Allira Thu 23-Oct-25 22:18:12

Oreo

And what’s with the all black outfit?

Meeting the Pope.
It's protocol.

I've seen Camilla wearing better headwear and in not keen but perhaps it looked better in reality.

Who is the designer?

InRainbows Thu 23-Oct-25 22:14:20

It's a little too large but pretty

I saw her on the news, the outfit looked very smart and was respectful for the occasion. She wore the veil out if respect fir the church.
I really like Camilla. She comes across as a lovely genuine person and the poster who called her a trollop should be ashamed. She loves Charles.
Let he without sin caste the first stone.

I completely agree rafichagran.

Ziplok Thu 23-Oct-25 22:06:06

I shouldn’t be surprised, but the nastiness of some of these comments is unbelievable. I do sincerely hope that loved ones of yours don’t experience similar vitriol from others that you are dishing out about Camilla.
The OP asked for comments about her headwear. Some of you have used it as an opportunity to be extremely unpleasant about Camilla herself. Says more about you, really.

I liked how the Queen looked. Lovely outfit, very elegant, and very suitable headwear to meet His Holiness.

I remember wearing a mantilla to go to mass when I was growing up. Women and girls did not need to wear hats or mantillas from my early teens about 55 years ago.

I wore a mantilla to Mass when I was young. They were quite fashionable I remember.

Nightsky2 Thu 23-Oct-25 21:46:09

I thought she looked lovely.

Agreed

Esmay Thu 23-Oct-25 21:16:10

I don't like Camilla ,because she showed no respect for the late Diana .
Like her or not this latest creation is more appropriate for Hallowe'en .
Camilla just isn't stylish -
more a cosy old jodhpur person.
I hated the hat that she chose for her wedding -like something out of the henhouse.
Maybe that why the King loves her -she's not a clotheshorse .

sodapop Thu 23-Oct-25 21:05:48

Absolutely agree with you rafichagran no more to be said.

EVEOHA2602 Thu 23-Oct-25 20:53:40

Will do - I stand corrected re the author - I wondered why it came with a capital T - Luddite that I am ☝️

I like it, but most of you would probably dislike my clothes.

David49 Thu 23-Oct-25 19:57:21

Wearing a hat or veil is customary but why black leaves seemed strange, do they observe Halloween at the Vatican

I don’t like it but usually Queen Camilla looks nice.
This looks oversized.

It’s protocol, all ladies meeting the pope wear black.

Thank you for a smidgeon of common sense and , general knowledge and awareness of protocol in the face of uninformed mockery.

Ilovepuffins Thu 23-Oct-25 19:42:15

It's certainly different but appropriate for the Queen.
She seems to be a lovely lady and I think she's doing a very good job.
