Where on earth can I find….

…a long, fine-knit, polo neck, plain black jumper? I mean long as in top of thigh length - and I’m 5’ 7”.

Last I had was from M&S a few years ago, now getting sadly faded.
Any ideas, O wise ones?

I am 5’ 8” and I buy men’s’ polo neck jumpers if possible, as they are always longer in the arms and body!

Presume you've done an internet search?
Try eBay?

The vest/gilet/body warmer i loved but had sadly worn to death came from Seasalt.

Anyway I found one on eBay for a few pounds in excellent condition.

I wouldn’t mind men’s, as long as it wasn’t baggy. It’s a jumper I like to dress up now and then, with an emerald silk scarf or a long rope of freshwater pearls. I don’t want it for everyday mundane stuff like housework (not that I do much of that anyway…)

I have several from M&S. They were called thermal vests. They may be but are lovely thin stretchy polo necks and are fine and long especially if you get the larger size.

I buy roll necks from Kettlewell. They're silky-smooth.

That would have been perfect - except that my size is out of stock! 🙁

Thanks everybody - I’ve ordered one from Kettlewell so 🤞.

I did check Seasalt - I buy quite a bit from them, but theirs just wasn’t long enough. It’s finding one long enough that’s been the issue!

I got some long ones from Matalan I'm short but like long body, unfortunately the sleeves were to long for me. No pleasing me!

If you can sew, there's a pattern by Copper Creek patterns in Australia (aka DIBY Do It Better Yourself) The pattern is called Nora and you can download it as a PDF. I've made two and they are more or less mid-thigh, long sleeve, funnel neck. I've hardly worn anything else lately.

Ebay? Vinted?

LaTroisette Mon 26-Jan-26 17:10:48

Have you tried Cos or Arket? Lovely clothes meant for taller people. I'm only 5' 2" so not a lot of their stuff fits me

4allweknow Mon 26-Jan-26 17:20:06

Have you tried dying it.

FranP Mon 26-Jan-26 18:36:37

I find M&S is too short for most tops and I am only 5' 6" and long legged. To me their classic ranges are OK for my mother's much shorter (on average) generation.

I buy good classic stuff from Primark and Sainsbury's (TU brand) mens

JPB123 Mon 26-Jan-26 21:12:45

Try Vinted,they have them occasionally.
