Has anyone bought clothes from Roman?

I haven’t bought anything new to wear for yonks, but posts from Roman appeared on my Facebook and I had a look. I quite like a few garments, the reviews are mostly very positive but as per post title, has anyone bought from this company? I’m wondering about quality of materials, how true-to-size the clothes are, and if you had any problems, was the company responsive?
I promised myself a good while back that for sustainability, etc. I didn’t need/wouldn’t buy anything new and would buy from charity shops, etc. instead. But, unfortunately, my local charity shops are 1) just not getting in/displaying many nice quality garments in my size and 2) those that I’ve seen in my size are imo, often ridiculously overpriced and/or poor quality.

I buy from Roman and the clothes are fine although they never look as good on me as the models. 😏

You can also buy Roman clothes at discount outlets , slightly cheaper - we have Cheshire oaks or Boundary mill outlet here in the North west

I have bought several items from Roman, mostly from a shopping outlet near us so ai have seen the quality and fit.
It probably means it is not current fashion but that doesn’t bother me.
I find the tops are large so go down a size.
A couple of things I have bought online have not lived up to description sadly.
As they are not expensive I have just passed them on to friends in exchange for a bottle of wine!!

I have trousers and a jumper from Roman and I am pleased with the quality. Sizing is accurate.

Is it like Temu? I haven’t heard of it. I will google it.

I never bought anything from Temu so wouldn't know. I always buy from Roman Original shops or outlets. Their clothes are reasonably priced but not bargain basement.

I think they are one of the few High Street shops I can go in and find clothes that feel right for me, although I will still always try charity shops too!

I updated my wardrobe a couple of years ago and bought quite a few items for various occasions from Roman. Mid price range, good quality and very quick delivery.
I would agree that going online is the safest bet-using the website. A few times I have requested to be informed by email when an item I’ve like but which has not been available in my size is back in stock- and this system works well- notification via email arrived to go to website and order as said item was back in stock.
No complaints from me.

Had a few nice outfits from Roman! Some of their dresses are lovely for weddings - had a few of those in the last few years and not too expensive either.

Love Roman!! I’ve been buying from them for years, mainly dresses, tops and jumpers. Very good sizing.

Elsi Tue 10-Feb-26 21:45:57

Sizes are true to size and quality seems good in my opinion

I used to be able to buy Roman Originals from our town's department store, Beales, but since it closed down I've bought similar styles of clothes from our local Bon Marche, roomy fitting rooms and pleasant staff. I don't shop online.

I've had clothing from Roman too and always satisfied with my purchases. Medium range prices and quality but excellent for every day. Unfortunately I have to buy mine via Next Direct otherwise I would have to pay duty on my goods.

I love Roman - most of my clothes are from there.

I have bought quite a few items from them. The clothes have been well made and the order has been sent promptly. Delivery is free and it is only £3 to send items back even if there are quite a few of them. If you want an item but in a different size you can send it back for free. I've found the dresses and trousers true to size but the blouses and jumpers have always been a bit big so I've had to have a smaller size. Many of the dresses have quite a stretchy fabric and can be pulled over your head rather than having to struggle with buttons or bios which as I have health problems I find this a plus. There are often good discounts in the sales and if an item is out of stock you can request an email for when it comes back in.

I’ve not bought online from them , but I’ve been in one of their outlet shops and wasn’t impressed with the quality.

I was very pleasantly surprised and the very few items that didn’t live up to my expectations, were quickly and easily returned.

I have a particularly lovely fit and flare sparkly dress from Roman. Very pleased with it. Bought it from a shop though, not online.

I have a few dresses from Roman and all of them came from a charity shop .
They are very nice quality and much admired .

I have used Roman for most of my clothes.
Sizeing for me is spot on,in tops, cardigans, jumpers etc.
Its only trousers or jeans that are a waste of time, i find petite range in trousers and jeans are always too long.im 5ft 2.
I have found the call centre very helpful if ive needed to contact them.
I prefer Roman to Yours.
Im not sure whats going on with their sizeing its always huge and not a lot of shape.
Had to return another item to yours again today.
Suppised to be an 18 could get 2 of me in it.
So try Roman had never had any issues with them.
Noticed there range is getting dearer.(like everything)

I am another fan of Roman. Always been very pleased with my purchases. However I do have a jumper from there that has "bobbled", however I still like it and it is very warm. We have a designer outlet near us and you cannot get money back from the Roman shop there, however you can exchange or get a voucher.

62Granny Tue 10-Feb-26 17:32:21

Yes I have bought from them both in online and in store ( we are lucky to have a store near by) always found their clothes to be good quality and wash well sizing is true , in fact sometimes a little bit generous all depends on the shape, I am a 18/20 so not small. Plus I usually get a compliment about them. Returns are easy but there is a charge. Another nice online is Klass. Similar style and sizing.

LadyGracie Tue 10-Feb-26 17:31:40

I’ve had summer and winter dresses from them in the past, I still wear them, I really like them.

MT62 Tue 10-Feb-26 17:27:49

Black, wide legged trousers. Had them for years & look smart with a dressy top.

TillyTrotter Tue 10-Feb-26 17:26:31

I am a fan of Roman stretch crop trousers and have many colours. There is such a wide range of colours and they sell well year after year.
Google for discount codes for percentage off full-prices; they often have these offers at weekends and Bank holidays.
I find I have to go a size up for the stretch crop trousers. (They offer Petite sizes too).

Sadgrandma Tue 10-Feb-26 17:20:14

There is a Roman Originals shop in our local shopping centre and I have bought numerous things over the years and have always been pleased. I haven’t bought anything for a while though. Please do make sure, if buying on line, that you use their website and don’t click in pop up links.
