For so many people, especially older women ,black is such an unflattering colour when anywhere near the face. It makes people look sallow and bleached.

Having a naturally sallow complexion. I keep black below the waist, otherwise it makes me look as if I am attending my own funeral.

Perhaps they are all on a break from their barrista shifts!
Seriously, I find this a difficult season to dress for as I love all the grungy Autumnal colours and feel ever so lacking in the pretty Spring hues.
Sometimes make a huge effort & pop a coral scarf with my olive green, so envious of those who look good in pinks, heather & lilacsunshine

What is this obsession with wearing black in European cities?

I'm off to a different place for a change this Easter, (usually Paris or Nornandy ), and yet again, looking at current pictures, it's a uniform of black trousers, black sweatshirts and black jackets. Don't they realise once the sun comes out it's time to add a bit of colour?

This isn't just an older generation, it's all the younger people. And there was I thinking Boden items would look nice. So time for a rethink methinks.
