All week I have had problems with e-mails,they will not open in usual manner, they will open if I right click and scroll up to open, but then they won't delete,I've tried every which way and am getting myself confused as I am not the brightest button in the box when it comes to tech stuff.

We are BT Business for phones and Broadband and were cut off from both for 5 days! Came back on , on Wednesday afternoon!
We were told it was a common fault..... I cannot believe it took that long to sort out, luckily we were in Swanage for a few days otherwise DH would have been very angry.
To cap it all then my O2 mobile was also out for 24 hrs, as we heard on the news! confused

We have BT Yahoo as well, glamma. Have you tried their 'Help' pages?

When I have problems, I switch the d**n thing off, unplug it, go away and restart the whole shebang hours later. A wine or brew depending on time of day sometimes helps.

I've recently had problems with Yahoo as well. It started with EVERYONE in my address.

. book being sent an email, supposedly from me, but with a link to a Viagra ad. I was advised by Yahoo to change my password and my security question. That initially solved the problem but then a week later I got an email saying that I had changed my password (I hadn't) and then I couldn't access email at all. Further calls to Yahoo and they said that my email had been "compromised" ie: hacked. Recommended that I changed password and question yet again and also that I changed the part if my settings that kept me logged in for longer than 15 minutes at a time. Problem seems to have gone away now but I'm rather lacking in confidence with Yahoo at the moment. I also have a gmail address and I get far less spam and no problems with that at all.

Gracesmum's solution of turning everything off and starting again works well very often, with computers and phones too!

Apparently, if you open emails about Viagra and suchlike when they appear in your spam folder, a virus gets in and sends out Viagra emails to all your contacts. The advice is to always delete spam if you don't recognise who it's from. I seem to get several every day but don't know how to block the flippin' things.

Send an email to the person whose contacts list has been hacked and get them to contact their provider. Several of my contacts who use Yahoo and Hotmail have been in this position. So far, I've found gmail reliable.

I have a gmail account and a yahoo one. I don't get spam at all, it goes straight in the trash and I can only assume it is due to my security which is Norton. It seems to be very efficient.

Hi girls, everything seems to have rectified itself again,I am also plagued by spam for viagra and always delete them without opening,I have been incontact with yahoo and they say my account has not been comprimised in anyway but changed password just in case,my other account is also gmail for when I use my tablet and i have not had spam on that account at all.

Sounds as though you have a problem that needs sorting by Yahoo themselves glammanana - perhaps you should ring them when you've got an hour or so to spare hmm

Glamma if you look on your BT Yahoo Home Page there's a list on the left, the top one of which is 'My BT'. If you go into that, then click on the help tab at the top of that page, you'll find a box which says 'setting up e-mail'. I had a look, and it offers help with any problems you have - worth a try!

I cannot retrieve my pass word for my yahoo account. I'm trying to set up my new iPad and I can't get me email on it! Grrrr

(Obvious I know) have you checked if upper case is on?
Plus, on the bright side, remembering all these passwords is a way of staving off Alzheimer's!smile
