As our TV recorder is on the blink, rather than replacing it, we are considering BT TV. Does anyone have personal experience of BT TV ?

In praise of BT, I found their support/help line for BT tv to be excellent.

Sorry bit early in the morning, and my friend has just had a big battle to get money back from something BT could not provide. Should have realised that BT and sarcasm (sure that is not spelt right) would be in the same sentence ?

pompa Wed 23-Mar-16 08:56:28

Yes I was, sorry if my humour was a bit too subtle.

Tizliz Think pompa was being sarcastic! Hence his wink!!

pompa you missed the point, I am receiving infinity nicely. Just bt doesn't know it's ar**e from its elbow?

Jane10, that's why we need the recorder, have to schedule TV into non U3A slots.
Tizliz, you won't have to pay the bill if they can't provide it. wink

I just love BT, their web site can't find my address but going on my post code it says I can't have Infinity. I actually had this installed by them last week ?

Jane10 Tue 22-Mar-16 20:30:47

Oooh. Very flash pompa. We've only got the £5 package! Glad its working out for you. Don't know how you find the time to watch TV with all those U3A groups to get to!

pompa Tue 22-Mar-16 19:53:18

I have the Entertainment Plus package which can record 300 hours. It costs £10 on top of my BTbroadband.

Yes I can get both of those. here are the channels on the option I have, more or less are available depending on the option you choose.

pompa can you get channels like Nat Geo and History on BT TV? I find Sky very expensive but we spend a lot of time watching this type of TV and would be upset to lose it. Though I wouldn't miss Aircrash Investigation, OH would be most cross.

10 day on, and I love BT TV, just does everything so well, keep finding new functions that ar really useful.

pompa Sun 13-Mar-16 09:25:11

One thing I find odd is that the instructions indicate that if you are recording two live programs, you cannot watch a third live. However I tried it and we were able to watch a third live.

Jane10 Sun 13-Mar-16 09:08:19

Phew! Glad to hear it.

pompa Sun 13-Mar-16 09:01:16

Very, very pleased with it, does everything I expected and more. Easy to use and reasonably intuitive. Excellent.

Jane10 Wed 09-Mar-16 18:26:30

Hope it does as promised! Good luck.

pompa Tue 08-Mar-16 20:55:39

My BtTv is due to be delivered tomorrow, can't wait.

Jane10 Mon 29-Feb-16 08:53:53

Nice to hear from you pompa. I was just wondering what had happened to you! Busy struggling with your TV!

pompa Mon 29-Feb-16 08:27:42

Thanks for all the responses, BT Tv it is then. smile

We have BT - no problems there - I have added Netflix for more variety etc.

Coolgran65 Sun 28-Feb-16 23:28:38

Last month we changed from Sky which had become too expensive, to BT, and are pleased. No bother.

Jane10 Sun 28-Feb-16 18:45:49

Just checked pompa, there are 10 i players on our You View box as well as hundreds of channels accessible in the usual way.

Jane10 Sun 28-Feb-16 18:27:25

Yes. We seem to have all sorts of players. I only tend to use BBC, ITV and ch4 ones but there are others.

pompa Sun 28-Feb-16 17:47:05

Jane, do you get ITV player (we don't get that on our Sony TV atm)

Jane10 Sun 28-Feb-16 17:37:29

We have a YouView box from BT. Very pleased with it indeed. Very reasonable cost £5 extra on the phone bill each month. I suspect that there are more functions on it than I actually use but recording is v easy indeed and i- players are easy to access and use.
