Accessing my laptop Live Mail account on my smart phone

Anyone know how I do this? I have googled it and it is a bit over-techy for me - goes on about POP and IMAP which are both a closed book to me!

Is it an iphone?

There is probably an app that you can install on your phone. You log on as you do on your computer with your e mail address and password. The layout is simplified and you probably don't have all the same functions, but it's fine to just read your e mails and write short ones.
