Nuisance Pictures on Whatsapp

Why can't he just say to his brother ' ,please don't send any more, or limit them to 1 or 2 a day? If they don't share the same sense of humour and your DH doesn't find them funny, just tell him! Or say the storage on his phone is full?

Why doesn't he want to upset his brother? - his brother has already upset him by sending him all those jokes that he doesn't want.
I would suggest that he asks to be sent just one "joke of the day" which is really funny, rather than twenty that are slightly amusing. Tell the brother that he prefers quality to quantity. If their relationship is not one where the brother will accept that, and will even find it fun to pick out the best of the bunch for him, then perhaps he is someone your DH is rather afraid of - and that is another problem.

My OH and his brothers do this regularly. His phone pings constantly all evening most days. To his credit, he doesn't look at them straightaway as he's always too engrossed in a film. One of the brothers who lives abroad is a regular pain in the proverbial to be honest and his messages are quite lewd. OH deletes everything straightaway to avoid filling his phone storage with crap and admits that it would be lovely to get a personal written message or even a response to his own messages rather than silly, rude and occasionally obnoxious pictures.
I guess it's a matter of personal standards and good taste.

It's an unusual situation. My DH was adopted as a baby and his birth mother went on to get married and have 5 more children. 4 girls and a boy (my DH half brother). We only discovered them 4 years ago. They text each other nearly every night as his brother lives over 50 miles from us. It's usually about football. His brother is a bit of a sensitive soul. My DH didn't mind at first when it was just one or two but now it's relentlous. It's a case of damned if you do and damned if you don't.

For a start you can turn anything from that person to silent on WhatsApp. If your DH can not check them, they won’t be read and he can delete them all at his leisure. Is not fixing the problem, but managing his response.

I would just tell him, but if you really can’t, just hold your finger over the offending items. It should go blue, then press the ‘ dustbin ‘ at the top. I think he’ll see they’ve been deleted, and might want to know why...and then you’ll still have to have the conversation!
