It just gives you brain ache doesn’t it, when you can’t sort it no matter how hard you try. ?

Thank you Tilly Trotter but still no luck.

I’ve asked them to send it again in a different format. If not, I will give up! Life’s too short for all this palava. ?

A menu will say “Edit” sorry, not “write”.

Is there either a drop-down menu somewhere on the form (at the beginning I would expect) , or an icon of a small Pencil to click on as you need to be able to “write” on it.
I think if it has been sent to you as a pdf form, that will prevent you from typing on it.
It needs to be a word or excel format or table,
and when you have completed it you turn it into a pdf version to ensure noone who received it can further edit it.
Does that make sense/ bear any relevance to you Poppyred?

Thanks for your replies everyone, I will plough on.

If you click the link in the email it should say how it needs to be opened if it does not open automatically.

Have been sent a form by email. Do I have to convert to pdf so that I can fill it in? And if so, how?

if its going to work, you just tap on the space where you want to type and the keyboard pops up, if it isn't you will need to contact the people concerned and ask them what other ways there are to do it.

Quite often find it a problem. If it’s not in iPad acceptable format, I generally copy it to word or print it out, complete by hand and scan it back in to return. Long winded.
Have you looked on iPad help?
Would be interested if you find a solution
Good Luck

I use an ipad mini for form filling & it uses the auto fill so it's mostly filled in for me, sometimes I need to make a few adjustments because many forms have different layouts.

I'm sorry I'm no help as I've filled in lots of forms on my ipad and its been pretty straight forward no trick to it that I can impart. Sorry you're having problems im not sure what to suggest, what is the form you're having problems with?

Sorry Poppyred, but I can't help. I don't use an ipad. I use a Samsung tablet. I've never had problems filling in forms.
I thought someone ought to reply to your question, however unhelpful. hmm

Anyone?

Is there an easy (for fools) way to do this? I’ve tried following instructions on you tube and failed miserably.
