I got my DH a “Dumbphone” because he only uses a mobile phone for phoning or texts. He is 82 and just can’t be bothered carrying a very expensive mini computer around. We bought one from Amazon made by Melefon. It is perfect for him.

Thanks for all your replys. Currently keeping my eye on all sites mentioned to find the best deal to suit my pocket.

Very fortunate to have a local independent shop in my village which deals with reconditioned phones , laptops etc . They're excellent and as well as a 12 month warranty always available if any problems . My son uses Musicmagpie and he says it is first class. I would never enter a contract now, just sim only .

I am changing this recommendation because today I dropped it and that was that! Completely kaput! I can drop my iPhone every day and it still works- I do have a protective case on it. The melefon did not have a case because there isn’t one. So I cannot recommend it -thought I should add this as don’t want to lead anyone astray!
