Paranoid about the Internet

I've just had a massive panic about my information getting into the wrong hands via the internet. Husband found information about M & S Sparks plus?!, I investigated this but couldn't find anything but did find an Over 60's discount for M&S. I filled in the form and sent photo ID and was sent a verification code for M&S but couldn't see where to enter it - cue Son to the rescue (Son works in IT). Turns out it is not available in the UK. I feel so stupid for not looking into it more before submitting information 🫣

I have a friend, who is also extremely paranoid about the Internet.
She does not believe in Internet banking etc etc.
Me? I do everything on line…….banking, emails, shopping , newspapers etc etc.
Only once, in all these years, have I been subject to some sort of fraud. Either through human error or online fraud, payments were made to people unknown to me.
Fortunately, I do check my accounts almost daily. As soon as I discovered it, I rang the fraud Department and the money was returned to my account.
Elles can’t quite understand what really happened in your case.

I think we are all open to fraud with or without us being on the internet The last two times I was frauded was nothing to do with my internet
First time someone at their end got into my phone account
reported as soon as I knew and was eventually sorted Nothing I had done, it happened at their source
Second time someone got into my Amazon account although I never leave my information online again quickly rectified and money back in account next day
I too check regularly
It can happen anywhere, anytime just like shop lifting
Don’t worry Elless

I am online a lot of the time and I'm very careful. I have two sons in IT and they have given us plenty of information on how to keep safe, that's why I am so annoyed with myself this time. Doesn't matter where you go or what you do there's always something you have to watch out for.
