My husband and I are travelling to Australia to see our daughter and family in the autumn. Neither of us have travelled long-distance before and my husband suffers from arthritis. Which airlines would Gransnetters recommend as being most comfortable, is it worth paying extra (a lot!) for more seatroom, and where would you recommend for a stopover (and for how long?). Any advice please!

Well, I 've been truly spoilt as my DiL works for Virgin Atlantic and I have flown first class to New York and to Cuba with her. In spite of her red shiny shoes, she is both beautiful and intelligent!I have been very impressed with how she has been treated as a female employee...excellent maternity leave, retraining and a convenient part-time rota since she has returned to work.

Hi

When flying to New Zealand a couple of years ago I found Air Malaysia good. The staff were attentive and inteeresting choice of Malay food.

We love Emirates, the A380 is especially spacious and Business Class if you can manage it, is excellent. Space in the bar area to stand about in as well. Premium Economy also a good thing with more leg room and smaller cabin BA, Virgin , Air NZ and Qantas are but a few.
