Packing....

I'm only going away for a week; why am I cramming a huge suitcase full of clothes [I know I'll only wear a fraction of what I take but don't know what those things are]? Trouble is, I always used to do the holiday packing but now I'm with the S.O. it's his car and I'm only allowed to pack my things. Last time he even took the dogs food out of the container I'd put it in and said it had to be in a plastic bag. I get soo frustrated. I used to pack the car for holidays abroad touring Europe with kids and tents and everything. Now I can't even pack a suitcase of clothes just for me without taking too much stuff.

I have the same bad habit and Im reigning myself in before we leave for Edinburgh in the morning, I will have to resist the temptation to drop something else into the case. grin

Tegan just convince yourself you are flying with 22kg limit and not going by car.

Need some help!

I'm flying off on Monday and I don't understand the regulations regarding 'liquids' and plastic see through bags and cabin luggage. For example, my make up is sort of 'liquid' ..so does that go in the plastic bag? And how about items like toothpaste, moisturisers, perfume, etc.
i know i can put most things into hold luggage but I've been 'parted' before from luggage in the hold and not reunited with it for days.

Help!

Bellasnana Fri 27-Dec-13 16:48:59

All the items you mentioned are classed as liquids as are lipsticks, mascara etc. You can take travel sized containers ie.100mls in a sealable, see-through plastic bag but they mustn't add up to more than 1 litre. You need to show it when you go through security. Any liquids containing more than 100mls would need to go in your hold luggage.

Aka any liquids/creams over 100mls is not allowed in hand luggage.

Tegan I was a brilliant packer when doing business trips!

Now, tell Phoenix where you are going, how long for and what you might be doing?

(Not just being nosey, after all if you are likely to be going to a hunt ball you wont need the same things as if you were spending a couple of days doing survival training with Bear Grylls, will you?)

Aka Fri 27-Dec-13 17:10:22

I'm off to Orkney for a week and Hogmanay wine .. probably more Famers' Ball than Hunt Ball Phoenix , though the way the weather's shaping I might be seeing the New Year in at Aberdeen Airport!

Thanks for the help. Will go and look at the mls on my stuff.
