Not the most intrepid traveller, we are forced to use Ryanair this year to travel to Austria to stay with friends. Any helpful hints from those in the know, please, especially as regards luggage? I have already paid extra for more legroom, but don't want to run up a bill unnecessarily.
I always appreciate the helpful advice given by other Gransnetters.

Just a follow-up to my initial anxious enquiry about Ryanair. We had no problems at all with this airline, check-in was straight forward in both directions, and everything went very smoothly. There was a bit of a scramble getting our carry-on luggage into the lockers, but as we paid extra for priority boarding, we could cope with this. I noticed that women travelling alone were helped by men on the flight, and there was a general feeling of helping one another in the "scrum". OK, the plane had seen plenty of wear and tear and I was glad we only had 2 hours on board, but it was tremendous value for money. grin

Glad your trip went well and you faced no problems as I said in my first post they have improved a lot lately I ve been using Ryanair for about 20 years and the last four or five have been absolutely fine their customer service used to be terrible but they have done a lot to work on it One of my first flights with them was a 2p ticket from Stansted to Newquay haha couldnt make it up could you ?

My friend uses Ryanair regularly to travel from Denmark (Billund) to Stansted and she has nothing but praise for them. She is 84 and has difficulty walking but she has wheelchair assistance and is treated like a queen, always being boarded first and taken off last. She has a window seat so she doesn't have to get up and down for people needing the toilet.

She, like myself, uses them as they are the only UK airline which flies from Billund (her nearest airport) and her family meet her at Stansted.

You did quite well with your 2p flight to Newquay BlueBelle but I can beat that - 2p return to Denmark from Stansted. smile
