I love checking out 'live' webcams of places I really like. Places I have been unable to visit during the last 18 months. Counting down until I can get there again smile

I don't think this one's been mentioned yet.

It's the actual views from people's windows. Not live but can be quite interesting! I've just been to Tasmania. smile

Lovely to think so many people looking at the cams! are you not near the sea/beach now Whitewavemark2?

No I live in the South of England now, near Brighton on the South Downs. So I look at the sea, but so miss Cornwall.

I think it will Chestnut. People come from all over the world to cross that crossing. My nephews, who are in their 30s did it not so long ago. As an avid Beatles fan, I would do it. blush

What a wonderful list of interesting webcams to follow. The only one I use is to check the traffic on a local bridge which can get very busy at rush hour.

Many years ago my daughter told me she had been watching a webcam which showed wildlife in Africa.

I thought that sounded good so googled 'wildlife in Africa'. That was a mistake!

Yellowstone National Park webcams are amazing. Think they have 5 or 6, all fixed at different points around the park and so you can see elk, bison and bears strolling around. Plus, if you check on the timetable to see what time Old Faithful geyser is due to blow, you can watch that too.

I am glad it is not only me who is addicted to webcams smile Love them. Glad you still have the sea Whitewave but understand you miss Cornwall. It is magnificent!

MissAdventure Sat 09-Oct-21 20:10:57

Well, this a whole new world for me!
I'm amazed.

Chewbacca Sat 09-Oct-21 20:54:20

MissA if you Google Old Faithful and the Upper Geyser Basin Live-stream Webcam into your search, you'll go straight to the live streaming. It's around 14.00 in Wyoming now and visibility of the steaming geysers is perfect.

MissAdventure Sat 09-Oct-21 21:06:33

Oh, I'll go and have a look, thanks!
I never knew webcams were used for anything other than rude stuff!

MissAdventure Sat 09-Oct-21 21:20:44

I've just been watching.
Thank you. smile
I'm going to go back again later and explore.

The window swap one is interesting but one that was overlooking an apartment block in Singapore made me feel like a peeping Tom as you could see various occupants going about their daily business through their windows. I felt that was too obtrusive to stay looking at for more than a minute.

I have been a fan of webcams for a while, but they have really come into their own since covid started. For various reasons I have not been anywhere near the sea for over 18 months, so I love looking at coastal webcams, especially during stormy weather, and on the coast of my native Cornwall.

bookwormbabe Sun 10-Oct-21 12:37:46

For any Cornwall fans, there is a good selection of webcams on this website:

Alway used to checkout new places before going there on holiday. But this is a good idea to go back now and have a little reminder. So thanks love for that idea.

Aspects Holidays, St Ives , do 10 webcams all around Cornwall. they are very good indeed. You can even join in conversations!
