Has anyone stayed at these hotels. Do you think 3days would be enough ?

I stayed in a holiday camp when I was a child - I was smacked by a Redcoat!! Maybe that's what has put me off!

I’m going to Warners at Cricket St Thomas in Somerset this weekend. DD has booked it as a birthday treat. It will be just the two of us.

I have been once before to Thoresby Hall in Nottinghamshire, for DH’s 70th. I was 67 at the time and felt like Luckygirl it was Butlins for oldies although the food and entertainment were both excellent.

I’m ten years older now and have to say I’m looking forward to it this time around.

It comes to us all in the end! 😂

I’ve been to a few.
Each one has been in a lovely area. When we go we explore the surrounding area. We don’t often take part in the daily activities but some of the evening shows are excellent. So glad we saw the Hairy Bikers. Mike gave the first scone they made to mum, she was very happy.
We go as a large family, mum is 96, we swim, play tennis (only available at some venues) go for walks.
Some are past their sell by date but some are lovely.
I am presuming that Jaffacake’s allergy problems are quite severe and involve contamination in the kitchen because all the venues that I have been to have had really good buffets with a huge choice available. There is table service too if you prefer.
There are quite a few wheelchairs about and the demographic is an older, but isn’t it wonderful that it can be accessible to all. I find that if you were fun and could enjoy yourself when young you could do the same as you aged.
I can definitely recommend as a short break.
A bit odd that ageism pops it’s head up on a forum for grans!
