Hi,

Couple later 68 and 72, only had 2 holidays abroad, just back from 10 days in Italy .

Would like to travel again but not sure where, not interested in sitting around a beach, more historical and religious .

Considering anything from long weekend to 10 days but flexible.

Have some mobility issues but can get around.

Do not like the heat and would need to avoid school holidays.

Accessible to any of the London Airports. Mid range budget

Would welcome any suggestions - thank you

If you love history then Italy is the obvious answer but I see you've already been.

I think Seville, Vienna, Berlin, Amsterdam or Kradow might fit the bill. They are all beautiful, very historic and quite accessible for limited mobility.

I would go back to Italy - quite easy, lots of fabulous archaeological sites to see, great food - and if you go off-season you can choose the time when the weather is good.

Depends what history interests you. Italy is not much use if you are rivetted by Scottish history.

Prague is lovely historic castle, really interesting Jewish quarter, classical concerts and good food.

I love Turkey and such hospitable people . It is hot but everything is air conditioned .

France for WW2 history

Another vote for Prague for a city break of 3 or 4 nights. Vienna and Budapest are also interesting but more spread out. Rome is fabulous, although that may have been included in your Italy trip. You should have a good time wherever you decide.

How about the Canadian Rockies? Direct flight to Vancouver from Heathrow. Spend a day in Vancouver. Next day board the Rocky Mountaineer train. www.rockymountaineer.com/promotions/final-call-2024

Lots of good ideas above.
Not all are Historical and/or Religious.

Some of these may be possible- but not all.

We had a lovely few days in Northern Ireland. I longed to see Giants Causeway. And the Titanic exhibition was excellent. The coast is lovely, as are the loughs.

Have you considered a cruise, visiting several ports of call? If mobility can be an issue, this is rather a good mode of transport and you can do as little or as much as you like upon arrival at each new place. It gives you a taster of several different places and you can always revisit for longer if you find somewhere you particularly like.
