Have you considered Tunisia or Morocco. I know it’s not Europe but still short flight. There all inclusive deals are a bargain and the hotels can be central so doesn’t stop you going out for a meal if you want. I find less families so suits me better and the service is good. Temperature tends to be higher than Spain and the places to visit are fantastic.

For me it’s anywhere with access to good countryside and nice walks. Walks should always start and end at a nice cars/restaurant that has a good view where you can sit, read and enjoy. I was also going to suggest finding a suitable flight from your nearest
airport!. Ryanair has just begun a flight from Edinburgh to Bergerac which I would like to try.
