Hello, I'm looking for suggestions for a quiet week to a fortnight away in January or February. This is a solo holiday.

I'd like to go abroad, not out of Europe, inexpensive and aiming at half board. Its for rest and reading.

Any suggestions or advice very gratefully received.

In winter time, Algarve is the warmest region in Portugal. This period is ideal for people who want to stay away from busy tourist seasons. Some other info about Portugal and the weather here gowithguide.com/blog/tourism-in-portugal-statistics-2023-the-ultimate-guide-5600

Have you considered Tunisia or Morocco. I know it’s not Europe but still short flight. There all inclusive deals are a bargain and the hotels can be central so doesn’t stop you going out for a meal if you want. I find less families so suits me better and the service is good. Temperature tends to be higher than Spain and the places to visit are fantastic.

For me it’s anywhere with access to good countryside and nice walks. Walks should always start and end at a nice cars/restaurant that has a good view where you can sit, read and enjoy. The Norfolk Coast and Lincolnshire wolds out of season. Abroad Sicily, Sardinia, and S. France. I spend a few weeks each year to the west of Beziers.

Yes Katiegrandma those villages west of Beziers are ideal.

I was also going to suggest finding a suitable flight from your nearest
airport!. Ryanair has just begun a flight from Edinburgh to Bergerac which I would like to try.

Did you decide on somewhere EvieB?
