Why do holiday homes seem to put double beds in every bed room?

We are planning a full family holiday in Norfolk this summer. DGD is off to university in the Autumn, so it will probably be the last one we have.

We want to hire a 4 bedroomed house with 2 bedrooms with double beds and 2 with twin beds. And I have spent this evening paging through 4 berdoomed house after 4 bedroomed house, all talking about the houses being great for families, then showing or saying that three, and sometimes all four bedrooms contain double beds. How on earth can that be family friendly. If you have children they need a bed each

Some houses do have one room with bunk beds, but that is no help if you have more than 2 children. and in our case where we are all adults, or close to adulthood, double beds are fine for the married couples in the group, but our 2 grandchildren and our daughter, their aunt, want beds to themselves.

The fact that so many of these houses have double beds in most of the bedrooms, suggests that that is what people want , but at present I am puzzled.

Another preference is en-suite bathrooms or at least one bathroom per family.

If abroad we want a pool.

I expect if we were going on a holiday with the plan of skiing all week (or doing something else as a whole group in the daytime) we might even be more picky about bedrooms in order to have a bit of a break.
There were 16 of us last time.

This year we wanted to go to a particular place in the UK and couldn't find a big house near where we want to be so we have chosen to rent four properties in order to get enough quality space for 20 of us - in the right "family groups".

We haven't done this before so will have to see how it works out. 🤞

@notspaghetti
Agreed. I have a lovely home and want something equally good or better on holiday.
Mostly it's just the two of us but once or twice a year I book something in the UK for six of us. Two offspring plus partners. Ideally 3 double ensuites plus parking for 3 cars.
If anyone has recommendations that tick these boxes in Yorkshire or possibly the peak district I'd be interested.

Can’t help you in your search Monica but as others say, if you find a house online you like and aren’t sure about the beds contact the site or the owner to ask.

If any GNers own holiday homes to rent couldn’t they advertise on here, am sure they would get replies.Maybe the site owners of GN wouldn’t like it?

Or, posters could recommend hotels and self catering cottages?
