Anyone have a good "upright chair" for use on sand?

I am going on a beach holiday in the UK with my family and two of us struggle to get up and down (I'm having a hip done at the end of the summer) - I thought I'd buy 2 good stable beach chairs and would be very grateful for ideas please.

What do other less agile Gransnetters recommend please?

Would a canvas directors chair fill the bill? You’d have the arms to help you up.

Maybe - thank you. I wonder if the legs are suitable for sand?

I've been looking at the camping chairs but lots of them seem very low.

Hi

How about something like the Chaise Pinguin Directors Chair, which I found a photo of on Amazon and then lost, sorry! Just wanted to say that if you choose a chair which folds and has a comfy seat and arms, the chair should have a solid bar each side going from front to back, rather than 4 individual legs and fiddly feet which will get stuck in the sand when you try to get up!
Hope that makes sense. x

Thank you.
I will look for that one.

Have a look at the Lafuma directors' chair. It has a bar each side and doesn't have legs so it would not sink in the same way on the beach.

This make doesn't have a distributor over here in the UK but I've found a similar one by doing an.image search.
Will definitely give ot a go.
Thank you.

Thank you re the Lafuma one.
Do you have one - and if so have you used it on sand?

I have found this one which may also work for similar reasons.

I could order one of each and see how they feel...

Directors chairs have worked for us in the past but we moved on to higher backed camping chairs. If you can access one I’d suggest a visit to a caravan/camping accessories outlet, they usually carry an excellent range of lightweight chairs and it’s easy to try them all.

I'm slightly wary of lots of camping chairs because of the "umbrella legs" (lots are a bit like this one) ...
Has anyone used them on sand?

What are you using, please, Cornergran?
I do like the idea of a higher backrest to be honest.
