Visa for Oz and NZ

If anyone has visited Oz or NZ recently am I correct that they now want you to get a visa before arriving?
If so, how soon before departure as when I went with my late husband 11 years ago we then didn’t need one before departure.

I went to Australia in March for a couple of weeks. I applied for a free e visa online through the High commission in London. All very quick and free.

My friend told me the Australian visa now requires you to upload your passport photo ( apparently it never used to). You will need a visa for both countries. Go onto the Foreign Office website, loads of information on there.

We had to get the visa for Australia earlier this year.

Yes, they certainly want a lot more information than they used to ask for.

I provided much more I/D than I used to have to, but felt it would make the process quicker, the more I could give,

I have now received confirmation after eventually getting the visa sorted.
If you took a direct return flight from Singapore how long did it take for you to recover from the 14hr flight?
