Hello all, I’m new here and came across this site whilst looking for help. It seems a kind and friendly place which is just what I need right now.

My lovely son has just been diagnosed with cancer and will require some treatment in the coming months. He had a holiday booked with Virgin which his consultant was happy to go on. However due to miscommunications with appointments he missed his flight out and has subsequently reached out to explain the situation to them. To no avail. A complete lack of compassion, understanding and empathy. It was an expensive once in a lifetime holiday which he asked could be rescheduled - no. Rescheduled flight for the day after departure - over £3000 ( they will be coming back on their original return flight). My question is does anyone know of anywhere I can complain to about this please? We’re not asking for refund just some compassion here. I can’t find an email address for Virgin either.

Was it a package deal or just a flight?

Did you son have current and legitimate holiday insurance?

Does he want to fly out and start his holiday later?

Did he book online or with a travel agent?

Good luck and I’m sorry to hear about your sons cancer flowers

I’m afraid this is not Virgins fault, I don’t know what they could be expected to do.

If he had a hospital appointment on the day of departure he should have postponed that.

It is very sad for your son but it really is not the fault of the holiday company.

Did he have travel insurance? Go through the insurance company first to see if they can help.

Was it booked through Virgin Holidays?
