A swimsuit as it rained all week.

MawsRosie this person could be "white" you know.
My sister-in-law is white and always had hair just like this.

I meant my HAIR 👵🏻the clue was in the emoji

I thought she meant her hair was white 🤔

Thank you - I thought it was an obvious remark

MawsRosie wait...you mean this young beauty isn't you?
Another illusion shattered 😓

Exactly - never having worn the coat - I unsurprisingly don’t have a pic- especially not a BACK view of myself in it.

Far too much sunscreen - special offers!

The EU is not the same as the Eurozone hence forints.

On a visit to Brazil we had to have Yellow Fever jabs but no-one checked and at least one needle-shy man was in the group.

Oh maybe!

Oh yes!
I see now maw (I was surprised and taken aback with the block capitals and phrasing, I admit)

Not my hair Oreo - I am WHITE!

Apologies.

A cabin with a balcony for a Norwegian fjord cruise that didn’t go in to a fjord

A new swimsuit. I’d intended swimming in the sea and then watched “Dirty Business” and vowed not to even put my big toe in the sea.

A waterproof jacket for my husband when we went to Orkney - never used

Me too!

Maggiemaybe TerriBull and GG13 when did you go? We’ve read that Yellow Fever is only recommended for Argentina and Brazil, not mandatory. My DH is 77 and although in good health tends to react to every vaccination he has but rarely gets bitten. I get bitten quite a lot. We’ve been warned the YF vaccine can be brutal but haven’t found anyone yet that had a bad reaction to it.

We went roughly 17-18 years ago.

Midge repellent, a porch awning to dry raincoats and wellies when we took our caravan to Scotland. Didn't see a sign of a midge and it didn't rain once. All were very useful in England later in the year. 😊

A deposit on a cottage that when we got there was beyond awful, stained bed linen, furnishings from the 1970's and I don't mean vintage retro, grease about an inch thick on the oven and around the dials.Yuck, turned round, drove home !

We went in early 2018, Dontcallmelove, when there was a large scale outbreak. Fingers crossed you’ll be okay now. We had a fabulous time btw, I hope you do too.

I think it depends whereabouts you're going within those countries, Dontcallmelove. We went 12 years ago and our stay apart from around the Iguazu Falls was pretty urban, Buenos Aires, a bit of Uruguay and Rio which aren't risky places for Yellow Fever. I covered myself in Deet insect repellent because I'm prone to insect bites, I've had worse at home than there. I'm glad at the time we couldn't get hold of the Yellow Fever vaccine due to their being bought up wholesale by various corporations, or that's what we were told and yes I've heard the side effects can be quite nasty. It didn't present a problem us not having had the vaccine, in fact we weren't ever asked if we had when we were there.

I hope you enjoy your stay there as much as we did. It still remains one of my best holidays ever.

Fly fans. We went to Cape Verde. Everyone recommended them on the Facebook site. Be prepared they said. Flies drive you mad. They were not cheap either. Re-chargeable too. Thought I was well prepared. Left them at the hotel in case anyone was bothered by the flies. I didn’t see one ☝️

Maggiemaybe, TerriBull and WW13 thank you for your replies. I think DEET and other precautions are the way to go. Looking forward to our trip, especially as this is the first in many years that we are doing an escorted trip.

OP, apologies for hijacking your post.
