A bit too much like a grown-up visit to Alice in Wonderland for me to take seriously. What do other Gransnetters think?

toothfairy Fri 17-Jun-11 13:48:34

I enjoyed the first series and looking forward to the new one, think
Idris Elba is great.

Never saw the first series - but enjoyed last nights episode.

Gorgeous detective - bit scary though.

BRING BACK ZEN!!!!

silversurfergran Fri 17-Jun-11 14:56:05

susiecb - I do so agree, I just loved Zen and even if it costs more money would rather have another series of 3 episodes than 6 of some of the other rubbish they are re-commissioning.

Love Luther, but that Rose is scary!

susiecb Fri 17-Jun-11 17:58:07

Can we start a ZEN pressure group and get the BBC to lose those terrible family sitcoms and Life of Riley terrible show. Sad to see good actors in this rubbish.

They are all a bit bonkers in Luther, never mind, something to watch I suppose.
They got rid of Zen as the beeb thought there were too many male detectives, well I for one have no problem with that, the male good looking, gorgeous detectives.

We recorded the first two episodes, but found them too upsetting, I can't stand the sort of violence shown, deleted them. I must be getting soft in my old age, much prefer Midsomer Murders

numberplease Mon 27-Jun-11 21:14:20

I`m still liking it.

harrigran Mon 27-Jun-11 23:21:35

Luther is good. If you do not like violence give Dexter a miss.

I LOVE Dexter! He`s so gorgeous I can make all sorts of excuses for what he does!!

harrigran Tue 28-Jun-11 11:38:11

Me too, should we really feel like this about a man who chops people up and drops them overboard ?

glammanana Tue 28-Jun-11 11:45:44

I'd hate to live in Midsomer you would be to scared to go out anywhere,in
case you ended up in the next murder plot

pompa Wed 29-Jun-11 09:31:07

I bet house prices are quite reasonable in Midsomer smile

oops, there's an echo in here !

supernana Wed 29-Jun-11 09:41:01

Luther certainly gets to meet the most murderous of monsters. Not for those with a sensitive disposition. Watched part of last night's episode from behind the sofa...only kidding...

toothfairy Wed 29-Jun-11 11:32:20

Good twist to last nights story, am loving it.

numberplease Wed 29-Jun-11 17:32:50

Haven`t seen last night`s yet, hoping to watch it whilst I`m having my tea tonight.
Re Midsomer, so many people get murdered there it`s a wonder there`s anybody left to kill off!

harrigran Wed 29-Jun-11 18:32:18

Luther, I guessed where the story was going straight off, my son was a gamer for a lot of years. There had to be a partner in crime too, no point if you don't have an opponent.

Still enjoyed it, pity last night`s was the last in the present series.

susiecb Thu 07-Jul-11 09:44:34

OOO Luther you naughty boy - has he got away with it? Lets hope there's another series.

crimson Thu 07-Jul-11 14:16:38

Wish I'd watched this now. By the way, anyone watching the American version of The Killing on Ch4 tonight? Good reviews, although it surely can't be as good as the original Danish version. Think I'll give it a go.

Hattie64 Thu 07-Jul-11 20:06:53

I loved the last episode of Luther, even though I kept waiting for him to get caught out. I am not sure about the American version of The Killing, I think I will tape it. I gather the murderer is different from the Danish version. The problem is the Danish series only recently finished.
