First time in a long time I have seen a kids film in the cinema but went this afternoon as part of DGD1s 7th birthday celebrations.

I thoroughly enjoyed the film & would recommend it to any of you who take GCs to the cinema! Good moral story, funny, feisty heroine and good production values.
I did thing of Bags as I was watching it. All the archery and set in Scotland!

What age of children is it suitable for - I suppose I really mean, how old would they have to be, ideally?

Well the age range of our group was 3, 7, 34, 45, 61 & 64 and we all enjoyed it! Target age 5-10 I would say but 2 or three years either way!

Good! I'll take my GDs (6) - thanks!

Some scary bear scenes but all happily resolved!

Oh, they like being safely scared! grin

Yes, saw this on the plane and it was good fun. Like a real fairy tale rather than it being about the actors whose voices are used (though I think Dad was Billy Connolly).

Saw it today. Started off not being too impressed but, as the relationship developped between the girl and her mother, I found myself crying my eyes out! The expression in the eyes of the bear was incredible. Am I being sexist in thinking it was more of a film for girls than boys? I didn't take my grandson so wondered if any grannies had taken their grandsons to see it and, if so what did they think? My grandsons are just obsesed with space things at the moment and I'm not sure the elder one would have enjoyed it. I'll get it on dvd and see what he thinks.
