j05 I wasn't sure why Merlin said that. Assume it was because he thought Mordrid had to die to save Arthur and by getting Arthur to refuse the request by the thingies that is what would happen.
But of course his plan backfired.
Incidentally, I'm not sure there is a place in Camelot for magic. Those people 'with magic' do seem to be pretty evil.
