Culture Show last night devoted a whole programme to real life stories of the black musicians who came to this country in the 1930's. It was fascinating stuff until I fell asleep towards the end 
. I'm hoping it's on iplayer.
There was quite a bit about snakehips johnson I was interested to find that he went to William Borlase school in Marlow. Quite a lot of my friends (boys) went there. We girls went to Wycombe High and our change of bus meant having to hang around outside the boys' school for half an hour.
