It was a first class cast and plot. David Tennant said in a interview that they didn't know whodunit until just before they recorded the last episode which must have made their acting all the more convincing.

Yes, Olivia Coleman's performance in that last episode was amazing. I was astonished when the reason for killing Danny was revealed. Would never have guessed. I thought he was having an affair with Danny's mum, got her pregnant, and one of them had killed Danny to stop him disclosing it. I do love a red herring

I don't know if it's a good idea to do another series though, it would be like a soap opera set in Broadchurch

I agree, Ella. Nothing could match up to this series.

Perhaps Olivia Coleman's the clue to the next series and how the community do pull together, though another murder would be a bit much and we'd suspect them all!
